I mean... that's a lie. And when given context it's a shitty lie. No, guns are NOT the leading cause of death for kids. They had to add in 18 and 19 years old adults to hit that number. Why? Well because NEARLY ALL of those gun deaths are gang and drug trade related. Most of those "victims" are gang members or otherwise engaged in criminal activity when they were killed. Also it's easy to find scary misleading facts about rare events. Because remember most kids don't die, it's a rare event, so it's easy to cherry pick and get odd results. Example. The NUMBER 1 CAUSE OF DEATH for children aged 1-3 is murder. No I'm serious, the number 1 caise of death for children aged 1-3 is murder. But not just any murder. Intentional murder by their own mothers. That, in the USA, is the leading cause of death for children aged 1-3. Want to know why? ... ... ... BECAUSE CHILDREN AGED 1-3 DONT FUCKING DIE VERY OFTEN. Most all the terminally I'll babies have died before one, and 3 year Olds don't go anywhere without a parent or guardian, many don't go to school yet either. There is just nothing killing kids aged 1-3. So the VERY RARE case where a mother murders her own child, becomes the #1 cause of death. So back to the original subject. Kids in the USA that arnt committing crime are amazingly safe. Safer than they have been in human history. So safe, that the leading cause of death in humans age 0-19 is when the few criminals shoot each other. Statistics can be complicated if you arnt looking at the raw data, or an honest summary table. And these anti freedom political hacks should be fucking ashamed of themselves.
