17 to 18 Pro Max is the same phone with a new year on the box. Duo is the only jump that changes how you use it. Starlight just makes that obvious.

The novelty will wear off fast, especially with the lack of FaceID, great cameras, and great battery life. iPhone 18 Pro Max is an incredible device, and a far better smartphone overall despite the fact that it’s a pocket stretcher.

It has no Face ID, is missing the last 3 cameras, and only supports the old Pencil. I would purchase the Duo but not this underperforming Duo.

I was thinking about that. Maybe they made it boring intentionally to make high-end customers choose the duo instead of the pmax. I take my own exemple, I have a 16 pmax, end bc of the lack of evolution on the 18 I’m gonna take a duo (also bc it looks cool I admit 😅)

Why would anyone upgrade yearly expecting drastic changes? It’s better to use your device for at least four years to see good changes 🤷🏻‍♂️

i got the Duo and now i spend half my day deciding which side looks cooler, and the other half wondering why my excitement is still on mute.

All the 3rd party apps will look terrible. Streched out or just a slither on the screen. Wait a year for all the apps to get updated for it.

Just get the Duo in whatever color you want, in fact just buy the phone that's right for you
