It would be great if they ever did. Making it to where combos maybe build up skills or you get abilities points or MP from pulling off better combos. I think that would be a great work around to the cooldowns, and they can also implement more RPG elements and playable characters too.

combat was decent.... but the 30 min damage sponge boss fights were not. so, please no.

If you somehow splice the best elements of the FFVII Rebirth combat system in as well, sure. The XVI combat system on its own was unfortunately mid at best, and that's being generous. Not much depth compared to Rebirth. That said, much of Clive's moveset was 10/10 vs Cloud's.

naw, revert back to the tried and true. go back to the turn based system. E33 has proven its still a very effective system. they quite literally use it in DQ11 and that game is great.
