“Two officers were northbound on Antione taking an arrested suspect to the processing center when their SUV struck Desire Pool, 41, who was standing in the roadway. […] Pool had just exited a bus and was not in a crosswalk as she crossed the street.” /2

My two cents… Eyes weren’t on the road if she did not see them standing in the street. It was clear as day in the video and the passenger officer could clearly see them in advance, too (as his verbal warnings demonstrates). This was a tough watch - the poor kid seeing that..

Also, to be crystal clear, it would have been one thing if the officers were responding to an emergency with their warning lights & sirens activated… but they weren’t. A rare moment where I think the cop should be terminated from the dept. Just the driver.

Why would you stop w your kids in middle of road!?? In a dark street!

What were they doing in the middle of the road,it looked like they didn’t know the car was coming

It said they had just gotten off a bus and were crossing the street but had apparently dropped something in the road and were picking it up

This is totally the mother's fault. She isn't in a crosswalk and must yield to vehicles in the roadway. Was she high or drunk?

It’s not the officer fault I can’t even see the people
