If you want to escape the rat race, I really want you to listen to this. Understand this one thing, and you'll not only make a lot of money in your current role but also have the foundation to be a successful entrepreneur. We're moving towards a world of "bring your own agents." The people who learn to build and deploy AI agents are gaining an unfair market edge and can demand a market premium. Here's what I mean: Imagine two people applying for the same job. Person A has everything a hiring manager wants to see - a 10/10 with a strong track record, impressive skills, etc. Now, Person B. They're decent - let's say a 7/10 and pretty average on paper. But they walk into the interview with a team of 10 AI agents and demonstrate exactly how they can use AI to boost the company's efficiency. I'm hiring Person B. Every single time. Because I'm not hiring one employee. I'm hiring eleven, and a full AI system with it. If you want to be valuable to the market, you need to be AI native. And, more importantly, you should apply only to companies that want AI-native employees and are willing to pay a premium for your skills. Every working parent’s nightmare: getting laid off while out on leave. Now imagine this happens to you, only you’re out on leave with your second set of twins. That’s exactly what happened to Aaron Francis and he joined me on Startup Dad to talk about it. He’s the co-founder of Try Hard Studios and makes incredible, developer-education videos. Mind-blowingly incredible. He’s also been an analyst, a developer and started his career as a Big 4 Accountant. Not exactly a traditional path to making videos for developers. “At the time my wife and I had two 2-year olds and we had just had a second set of twins. We had four kids under the age of three. I was set to go back to work on Friday and I got the call on a Wednesday. It was one of those moments where professionally it was the best time to go out on my own, but personally it was absolutely the worst time. Amazon worker says the Amazon warehouse he works at only hired foreigners 🚨 He says they deny American citizens jobs, tell employees they aren’t hiring if they recommend a friend or family member, then hire 10 foreigners per week “When is ICE gonna come to Amazon? Why in the hell is Amazon allowed to hire all these migrants? I mean, literally, it's probably 80% migrants, if not more. It's ridiculous. They tell the American people that they're not hiring, and then we literally sit here and watch these migrants come in, 10 per week, new hires walking through with new jobs. — But we go up and say, hey, I got a brother, I got a cousin, or whoever, a friend, whatever, that needs a job. Are we hiring? And they say, no, not at the moment, we're not hiring. You know, they can fill an application out anyways, just in case we do hire, blah, blah. And then that same day, you'll be working at your station, and you'll see them walking through 10 people. And literally, out of that 10 people, every one of them are migrants. Wow. Every single one of them. How does that work? How do they get away with that? How is that not discrimination by them telling me that they won't hire, they're not hiring right now, and then every week we see these people coming through?” He goes on to say he is begging ICE to come to Amazon because he says they do not have legal status. Sacks: With any new technology, there's always a huge change management aspect with enterprises because it's hard for them to adapt and change.
