WHY GOVERNOR ADELEKE DESERVES A SECOND TERM - DELE MOMODU Let me start by saying I'm a proud member of ADC. I joined ADC on the basis that prominent members of opposition parties in Nigeria decided to form a broad coalition of forces against the APC cankerworm that has almost destroyed our economy, social cohesion, religious tolerance and democratic institutions and separation of powers. I had prayed fervently against the demon, and clash, of voluptuous egos. I wished we won't have to reinvent the wheels since the ADC initially paraded the second, third and fourth leading candidates in the 2023 Presidential election. Unfortunately, it did not turn out to be so. But I still did not give up on the hope that Nigerians, not just the parties, would rise up massively against the APC menace. The time has now come for us to confront REALITY and demonstrate that we indeed possess commonsense by being demonstrably practical. It would be foolhardy not to see that with the manner APC has turned OSUN State into a theater of war, the only sensible STRATEGY is for all opposition parties to align immediately and back the ACCORD party candidate GOVERNOR ADEMOLA ADELEKE. I make this declaration without equivocation, or any fear of contradiction. This is not based on friendship or family ties. Governor Adeleke has been a global phenomenon who would easily defeat President Tinubu himself in a popularity contest. Adeleke is primus inter pares amongst Nigerian Governors, in order of extraordinary performance in infrastructure, health, education, staff welfare, labour unions, IGR, agriculture, commerce, culture, women empowerment, youth integration, etc. We should never supply the APC an easy alibi to rig the OSUN gubernatorial election on August 15, 2026... GOD bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬

I stated it clearly in one of my previous posts here that Senator Ibikunle Amosun Sen. Ibikunle Amosun and Senator Gbenga Daniel Gbenga Daniel are two of the most dangerous political actors to underestimate in Ogun State that while Amosun is not known for hiding his intentions, as seen in this video endorsing the Official PDP Nigeria governorship candidate, Gbenga Daniel is a master of political calculation, appearing to move with the APC while he will be silently working relentlessly to strengthen the Official PDP Nigeria and make sure they wins.. Several times, I used this platform to call the attention of those who matter within our great party to the looming danger. Unfortunately, what we are witnessing today is exactly what many of us warned against. I say this without fear or hesitation: Governor Prince Dr. Dapo Abiodun, CON must take responsibility for the crisis, division, and growing discontent currently threatening the APC in Ogun State. It is no longer news that powerful interests in Egbaland have openly aligned with the agenda of supporting Hon. Ladi Adebutu. Reports that the Alake of Egbaland and the Egba Council of Obas have endorsed the PDP governorship candidate, coupled with what is coming from this video by Amosun, should serve as a wake-up call to anyone who still believes all is well within the APC. The painful truth is that the strength, visibility and grassroots momentum the APC currently enjoys across Ogun State have been largely sustained by the political influence, acceptability, and relentless efforts of Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi) Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI. CON, FCA. Remove Yayi's factor from the equation today and I can boldly beat my chest and say that the APC is nowhere near as formidable on the ground as many would like to believe. History will record that if the APC suffers defeat in the forthcoming governorship election, it will not be because the opposition was too strong. It will be because those entrusted with the leadership of the party failed to unite stakeholders, ignored genuine warnings, alienated loyal party members and allowed personal interests to take precedence over the collective interest of the APC. As someone who understands the political history of Ogun State and the modus operandi of its past governors, I can only say that the signs were visible long ago. Those who chose to ignore them must also be prepared to accept responsibility for the consequences. If Egba has backed Ladi Adebutu, and Ijebu/Remo remains the strongest stronghold of Adebutu and Gbenga Daniel, despite Governor Abiodun being from the district, then what is left for the APC is Yewa, where Yayi comes from, which is even the minority to these two constituencies.. If, as a sitting governor seeking re-election, Governor Abiodun lost almost all the local governments in his senatorial district except one, resulting in the PDP securing eight seats in the State House of Assembly, what can he do differently to help Senator Adeola, who is not even from the constituency wins against these powerful forces that have now become both internal and external forces against the party in Ogun?

September 22, 2024 Press Statement Edo Guber: Official PDP Nigeria Backs Gov Fintiri, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Insists Its Candidate, Asue Ighodalo Asue Ighodalo Won the Poll The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stands by the results of the Edo State Governorship election as garnered by its polling agents across the State and echoed by the Chairman of the Edo PDP National Campaign Council, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State which indicate that the PDP candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo clearly won the election. The PDP asserts that the rush, venom and hauling of insults with which the All Progressives Congress (APC) APC Nigeria attacked Governor Fintiri only confirms APC’s violent desperation to cover its manipulations and steal the mandate freely given to Dr. Asue Ighodalo by the people of Edo State as reflected in the genuine votes cast at the Polling Units. As Governor Fintiri presented, the results collated from the Polling Units have Asue Ighodalo in clear lead before the State collation exercise was hijacked by the APC which, in connivance of some unscrupulous INEC and security officials, engaged in blatant alteration and substitution of the genuine results with fabricated figures in favour of the defeated APC candidate. The PDP had on several occasions alerted Nigerians of this sinister plot by the APC which will be firmly resisted as the APC and its candidate Monday Okpebholo were thoroughly defeated in the election. The PDP in the strongest terms cautions the APC and INEC not to announce or declare any result that does not reflect the Will of the people as expressed at the Polling Units. Such will be a recipe for a huge crisis in the State as the people of Edo State will never allow their mandate in illegitimate hands. Our Party again cautions INEC not to lose sight of the violent protest that trailed the criminal attempt by the former Adamawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mallam Hudu Ari to alter the outcome of the 2023 Governorship election in that State which nearly led to the death of some INEC officials. Any attempt to change the results of the Edo State governorship election and allocate victory to a defeated candidate will provoke worse consequences. INEC must therefore do that which is right in the interest of peace, stability and sustenance of Democracy in Nigeria. Signed: Hon. Debo Ologunagba National Publicity Secretary

Wike is talking rubbish. His gloating, rigging, showboating, & garrulousness won’t have saved the APC. Federal might failed in Osun. He would have been humiliated by the people of Osun State & Davido’s tweets. There was federal might in Osun at the lead-up to that election. Tinubu froze Osun LGA accounts & allowed Oyetola’s men to kill Adeleke’s men. The EFCC froze Osun State bank accounts. The APC bought votes for 20,000 & 50,000 Naira. We saw Osun people say it live on cameras. They sang for the defeated Senate President & APC governors on their shameful exit from Osun. More than 22 APC governors & 57 lawmakers invaded Osun State with their thugs & police escorts. President Jonathan is right for admonishing them thoroughly in his tweet. Serving governors invading another state during elections is an aberration. We saw the illiterate Monday Okpebholo & his thugs try to intimidate Imole Adeleke, Davido, & the powerful people of Osun State. The truth remains that the APC used federal might in Osun, but the people’s might was stronger. In the end, the people’s might prevailed. Bola Ahmed Tinubu is vindictive & power drunk. Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke extending the olive branch to Asiwaju is out of respect, regionalism, & political considerations. To put it more mildly; to attract the so-called “federal projects,” to get him off his back! There was no pact or prior agreement. There are winners & losers here. The biggest loser is Min. Gboyega Oyetola. That man failed as an exec. governor. He has failed as the Minister of Blue Economy & Marine Spirits. The presidential election will throw up its own peculiarities & persuasions. People lose a battle to win the war. For now, Osun people will live to fight another day. I am super proud of them. They have given us the much needed formula & we must make use of it
