Dr. Simon Ourian reviews the latest insights on non-surgical nose job options to help you understand what may be right for you. If you’re considering a non-surgical nose job, liquid rhinoplasty, or nose filler, the goal isn’t simply to change the shape of your nose—it’s about improving facial balance and proportions based on your unique anatomy, goals, and expectations. A non-surgical nose job uses carefully placed filler to smooth the appearance of a dorsal hump, refine the nose bridge, enhance the tip, improve symmetry, and create a more balanced side profile. It can provide subtle contouring without surgical incisions or the recovery associated with traditional rhinoplasty. The key? Understanding what can realistically be achieved with non-surgical nose contouring. Personalized planning and precise placement can help create natural-looking results that complement your existing features and overall facial proportions. This patient achieved a more refined nose shape and balanced profile with a non-surgical nose job by Dr. Simon Ourian in Beverly Hills. #nosejob #liquidrhinoplasty #nosefiller #drsimonourianreviews #drsimonourian

Magnesium plays a vital role in helping the heart and nervous system remain calm and relaxed. It is involved in hundreds of processes in the body, including muscle relaxation and proper nerve function. When levels are adequate, the body is better able to maintain balance and respond to stress. It’s also important to recognize that frequent intake of caffeine and refined sugar may contribute to mineral depletion over time. This can influence how the body regulates calcium and magnesium balance. Supporting mineral status through nourishing, whole foods and wise lifestyle choices can make a noticeable difference for many people — helping the body feel calmer, steadier, and more resilient. 🌿

Morton's neuroma occurs at the terminal bifurcation of the common plantar digital nerve. The deep transverse metatarsal ligament connects the metatarsals. Below the ligament, we find the nerve, and above the ligament, the bursa. And distal to the anterior free edge of the ligament, the neuroma. It is at this level that the nerve makes a pronounced dorsal turn at the distal free edge of the ligament. We can see this demonstrated in the video/illustration. This explains one of the theories; entrapment between the plantar soft tissues and the ligament. The dorsal approach for me is the best 👍 . We avoid the thick plantar skin. Compressing with the finger on the plantar side and sliding it also lets us differentiate the distinct components, where the ligament remains immobile. We can also mobilize the nerve and see how it imprints against the anterior free edge of the ligament, understanding the pathomechanism. Finally, the Mulder maneuver always helps. #mskrad

MSTR IS A PONZI - DEBUNKED IN UNDER 4 MINUTES! I am predicting that now we have seen the "HOW ARE THEY GONNA PAY THE DIVIDENDS?!?!?" argument totally destroyed by Saylor and company, we will begin to see the nonsense Ponzi FUD start again. David Sacks: When America Finished Settling the Western Frontier, It Lost a Crucial Escape Valve “ I think it could be important for the US to have a new frontier.” “Maybe what we can do is send all these progressive socialists off to Greenland to tame this new frontier.” “It is kind of interesting, as I remember from my high school history, I think the frontier was officially over by 1910, meaning every latitude and longitude had been sort of settled, and that is when the progressive era kind of began.” “And I do kind of wonder whether the frontier was this escape valve for pressure and resentments that build up in the economy.” “People could always just go west and become pioneers and find new territory.” “And in a way, that's what America was for Europe, right?” “I mean, Europe was sort of this overcrowded place. It was oppressive and people just left. They could opt out by going to America and settling over in what would become the United States.” “And I kind of wonder whether maybe we need something like that again as an escape hatch for all the discontents so they don't become Democratic Socialists in America.”

New short course: Building Code Agents with Hugging Face smolagents! Learn how to build code agents in this course, created in collaboration with Hugging Face, and taught by Thomas Wolf, its co-founder and CSO, and m_ric, Hugging Face’s Project Lead on Agents. Tool-calling agents use LLMs to generate multiple function calls sequentially to complete a complex sequence of tasks. They generate one function call, execute it, observe, reason, and decide what to do next. Code agents take a different approach. They consolidate all these calls into a single block of code, letting the LLM lay out an entire action plan at once, which can be executed efficiently to provide more reliable results. You’ll learn how to code agents using smolagents, a lightweight agentic framework from Hugging Face. Along the way, you’ll learn how to run LLM-generated code safely and develop an evaluation system to optimize your code agent for production. In detail, you’ll learn: - How agentic systems have evolved, gaining greater levels of agency over time—and why code agents are a next step. - How code agents write their actions in code. - When code agents outperform function-calling agents. - How to run code agents safely in your system using a constrained Python interpreter and sandboxing using E2B. - To trace, debug, and assess the code agent to optimize its behaviours for complex requests. - How to build a research multi-agent system that can find information online and organize it into an interactive report. By the end of this course, you’ll know how to build and run code agents using smolagents, and deploy them safely with a structured evaluation system in your projects. Please sign up here!

Friday. Expected one Slovak leader, but met another. I had a good meeting with Slovak parliamentarians, led by Michal Šimečka. Our discussion was very concrete and constructive. Ukraine is grateful to the people of Slovakia for their support. We are ready for an open and mutually beneficial dialogue on all issues, particularly in the energy sector. This dialogue must strengthen our nations—Ukraine and Slovakia—not Moscow. I’m glad we can find common ground with our Slovak partners and provide proper answers on energy security and geopolitical stability. 🇺🇦🇸🇰

Let's reverse engineer Disney's adorable, lifelike robot! I couldn't find a whitepaper, but this is how I think it's trained: 1. The emotional behaviors are curated by Disney animation artists, keyframe by keyframe. But it cannot be "rendered" directly on the robot because it doesn't take into account the complex real-world physics. 2. Reinforcement learning (RL) is a great tool for training low-level robot controllers. RL needs a reward function to optimize, and it's typically a task reward (e.g. walk in a straight line as fast as possible). The problem is that RL doesn't know what counts as "natural behavior", and often produces weird-looking body postures that somehow still maximize the reward. This is a human alignment problem just like ChatGPT. 3. Enters Adversarial Motion Prior (AMP): a technique that learns the human preference by training a classifier on what we consider "emotional & cute". In GAN literature, this is called a discriminator. Disney artists are good at creating such a dataset. You can then add AMP as an auxiliary reward in simulation to nudge the robot towards desired behaviors. AMP was developed by Peng et al. 2021 and Escontrela et al. 2022. 4. Add lots of data augmentation to make the controller robust to physical disturbances. In RL, it's called "domain randomization". This is a very powerful technique that bridges the gap between simulator and reality. Previously, OpenAI used domain randomization to train a 5-finger robot hand to manipulate a Rubik's Cube: IEEE news article gave hints about the pipeline: Finally, praying for world peace 🙏. I hope robotics like this will bring more joy to the world.

I read through a 123-page report on the Strategic Petroleum Reserve so you wouldn't have to. They began filling it in 1975, and it is now at a level not seen since 1983 during the initial fill. The question is: how low can it go? In this thread, I walk you through how the SPR could run out anytime between July 10 and October 4. 🧵Scroll down for the details! Click here for the full report:

Creators have questions about how longer Shorts — up to 3-minute Shorts — are rolling out, and here’s the timeline: 📆 Phase 1, this week: Giving creators a precise date (October 15, 2024) for when any square to vertical video, 3 min or under, uploaded to YouTube would stop being treated as a long-form and, going forward, be treated as a Short. No surprises. 📲 Phase 2, by end of next week: Longer Shorts will begin to show up and get recommended in the Shorts feed. (It’ll take a little longer, maybe several weeks, for the feed algorithm to start balancing shorter and longer Shorts recommendations) 🩳 Phase 3, by end of November: Longer Shorts will move to the Shorts Shelf in the Subscription Feed and to the Shorts tab on Channel pages (And yes, that’s for any longer Short uploaded after the October 15 start date) ✨ Phase 4, by early 2025: Shorts creation tools will be updated to support up to 3-minute Shorts, so in addition to uploading them, you’ll be able to make them right in the YouTube app as well And we’ll be keeping you updated on every step — and any changes in timeline — along the way!

We have 13B hours of player interaction on the platform monthly. This data enables us to train intelligent NPCs that can reason and interact in 3D worlds. Our training goes beyond videos of gameplay and simple WASD actions, utilizing our full data model for a more detailed representation of human interactions. Our video below shows Roblox NPCs figuring out how to build a campfire by reasoning backwards to find an axe, cut down a tree, and bring the wood to the firepit. This is still early research but we imagine a future where intelligent NPCs could play alongside real players. 4/4

MITO Only 3 countries have pilots trained on this dangerous manoeuvre: 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇦🇺. How do you get a huge number of jets in the air within just a few minutes? You put them all on the runway and do a Minimal Interval Take Off (MITO). This technique was developed during the cold war for nuclear war fighting and recently resurrected. In a flash, the US can get all its air assets out of airports that can be targeted by Iranian missiles and launch a surprise attack with minimal risk to these expensive units.
