The returns to having built parts before [10-15x] are enormous.” He says the “number of relationships you need” are extraordinary and can only come from experience and connections in the industry (fabs, IP, EDA toolmakers, cloud providers, backend engineers, logic engineers etc). Many software startups are different as young founders work in markets and build for consumers they are similar age to. Feldman is 54. He spent decades in tech hardware. Sold previous startup (SeaMicro) to AMD and spent few years there as GM before founding Cerebras in 2016 (four other Cerebras cofounders were also at SeaMicro and worked at AMD after acquisition).
