"How did the Quebec wildfires start all at once?!" is a question we've been receiving quite a bit. We were curious too so we decided to review the data. Using GOES-16 satellite data for fire hotspots and by overlay lightning data, the answer becomes pretty clear. Of course, not... show more

Thank you for doing this!

Our pleasure. It’s always good to review the data. If you don’t overlay lightning data or the fire hotspot data, it definitely doesn’t tell the whole story. 🔥

Lemme get this straight... You seen these "hotspots", that turned into wildfires and did NOTHING? Like, you watched this happen and were just all like...Meh?

To clarify, we reviewed the data yesterday and this occurred 9 days ago. We would need a flux capacitor and a flying DeLorean in order to make a difference seeing as there are next to no roads where this occurred in extremely rural Quebec.

Why are you ignoring the satellite images that show all these fires starting at the exact time... Which is an impossibility... This is plain as day arson and you lying means that you're complicit

Feel free to check the data yourself:

Unbiased, science and data based information to explain something. How refreshing!

People need to remember how wild Québec is. There is no good road system that up north is all wilderness as far as the eye can see. This is not the USA it was not paved over. These are extremely remote areas

“Check the data” is the new “trust the science.”
