Nice bit of planet smashing! I understand that because of computing power limitations, it needs to “dumb down“ reality into a simplified version with big chunky blobs instead of atoms. But how do we know it’s a faithful prediction of what would really happen? Is there a way to estimate errors inherent in a coarse (chunky) model? I suppose one way would be to compare predictions between the chunky model and a fine model run on a supercomputer.
