Tobi talks about how people think we can't do big infrastructure investments like we used to, which is true, but he argues it's because so many of our most talented people have been creating herculean monuments in software instead of the real world. "People talk about the incredible infrastructure we used to build in the '60s. How quickly we built subways and now it takes forever and so on. There is an observed degradation of a lot of these kind of projects. The web browser, Linux, all these kind of things are projects at a scale beyond what the pyramids are."

We secure our border because every country has the sovereign right to decide who enters, who stays, and who must leave under its laws. We secure our communities because American families deserve to live without fear, law enforcement deserves our unwavering support, and criminals should face consequences, not political protection. This isn’t about race. It isn’t about hatred. It isn’t about politics. It’s about sovereignty. It’s about public safety. It’s about the rule of law.

It’s disturbing how many activists (especially in Western academic circles) strip Palestinians of agency. They speak about us as if we are incapable of moral judgment, of political decision-making, of any responsibility at all. It’s breathtakingly condescending. Yes, the power imbalance with Israel is real. Yes, Palestinians have endured decades of structural injustice. But there is still room for accountability and self-correction. We cannot build a viable future if we pretend our decisions had no role in getting us here. We squandered opportunities. We made catastrophic choices. And acknowledging that isn’t “blaming the victim.” Please realize that Palestinians are full human beings with the capacity to choose a better path. If that triggers people, it says more about their prejudices than about our struggle.
