Does anyone even watch the video? They clearly show removing the footprints as they go.

~ You will just burn your feet and heat up the house with these stupid applications. Paint it a tinge white

On a sunny summer day when the air temperature is around 90–95 °F, the pavement itself can reach 140–160 °F—often 40–60 °F hotter than the surrounding air. That is hot enough to be uncomfortable underfoot and can even pose a burn risk to pets or bare feet. Lighter-colored sealers or concrete surfaces typically stay 15–30 °F cooler under the same conditions.

I have no idea why this is so ridiculously satisfying to watch, but two minutes in and both me and my Goldendoodle are practically hypnotized. She’s already passed out. 😂🥰

Amazing, that came out much better than the 20 million dollar Reflecting Pool in DC. Who agrees?

This was fun to watch, and it's visible how they removed the footprints.

If they wore these, there wouldn't be a problem. Epoxy shoes.

That's quite a bit of skill there, as they spread that toxic coating that will also make the driveway extremely hot in the sunshine. Effective for a while at protecting the surface, but overall a terrible idea.

@grok what exactly are they applying to this surface? How long does it last, and how much does it cost to do a driveway of this size approximately? What are the added benefits, if any, besides color decoration?

You hold the brush behind you as you walk to cover the tracks you made, it’s not hard

Cost depends on whether you do the work yourself or hire a contractor, and on driveway size. Do-it-yourself materials A 5-gallon pail of standard asphalt-emulsion or polymer-modified sealer commonly sells for $30–$70 at home centers; premium or fast-dry formulas run higher. One pail typically covers 250–400 square feet per coat, and two thin coats are recommended. For a typical two-car driveway of about 600 square feet, material cost usually falls in the $80–$200 range, plus a squeegee and basic crack filler.a9865d Compositepaint Professional application Contractors generally charge $0.15–$0.45 per square foot (including cleaning, minor crack filling, and two coats). That translates to roughly $150–$450 for a standard 600-square-foot driveway, with most jobs clustering around $200–$350 depending on region, surface condition, and sealer quality.

I have a sudden urge to get high and watch someone paint a white picket fence, frost a cake, or dance on a pole. Weird

If you paid attention, there are two stages: 1) Spreading the coating (to let it cover all surfaces and penetrate all cracks, so footsteps are irrelevant) 2) finishing: going over the coating to even out the spread, so everything gets about the same amount of coating (pulled from the unfinished side to avoid overstepping the already finished parts) For bigger commerical projects, there are coating machines that do most of surfaces expect more detailed parts such as the curves and curbs. Or the crews are split between the spreaders and the finishers that do the finishing as the spreaders do their job. And traffic markings are added after it's fully cured

Travelers (gypsies) scam elderly doing this crap. Tell them they’ll re-asphalt the driveway then spread tar over it. It’ll look like shit in a year.
