Under anesthesia, a scope is passed through the urethra and bladder up to the ureter (no cuts). A laser breaks the stone into fragments or dust. Fragments are basket-retrieved; dust passes naturally. A temporary stent is placed to help healing, removed 1–2 weeks later. Procedure takes 30–60 minutes; patient usually goes home same day or next.
