CBS just informed him that if he had Talarico on, he might have to have Jasmine Crockett on too. Last night Jen Psaki opened her show by reading a statement from CBS that said the network DID NOT prohibit Colbert from airing the interview. I really can’t rationalize how so many of us skip over something so easy, that impacts so much of your life. Between Baton Rouge and New Orleans the 2 biggest cities in Louisiana we have 270,156 REGISTERED Black voters. Only 15,038 Black people early voted when you add up the turnout totals for both. With low numbers like that turnout is expected to be extremely low for Black voters. Voting doesn’t solve everything by far, but not voting has impacts on your kids education, the investment in your roads and businesses. Even if you don’t care about the social issues, not voting impacts who gets the money. We have good people on the ballot Saturday. In statewide races, as well as senate and house races. This last week has truly revealed to me just how new to the grand stage and national limelight us Chiefs fans and KC natives really are. When you have a dynastic team led by superstar celebrities, THIS is how it goes and will continue to be. Famous dates show up to games. Ticket prices skyrocket. Even more unfair, unwarranted and unnecessary narratives are created by sports pundits to downplay and diminish the team you love. Your team goes from a lovable loser to the most hated and hated on franchise in the sport seemingly overnight. But we have waited our entire lives for days like these. So laugh at the negative noise and bask in the satisfying success. We’ve only just begun. 💍💍💍

Feeling blessed right now. I am so honored and thankful to NAACP Image Awards® for recognizing the words I shared about the NEED for us as a society to protect both our reproductive rights and organizations like Planned Parenthood Action during my stint on The Daily Show this past November. As of the time of this post, twenty-one states ban abortion or restrict the procedure earlier in pregnancy than the standard set by Roe v. Wade, which governed reproductive rights for nearly half a century until the Supreme Court overturned the decision last year. We need to keep the pressure!
