How does the Sam Darnold contract impact Brock Purdy? Darnold got $100 million for three years, $55 million guaranteed. If I’m the 49ers, I’m not paying Purdy $50-60 million per year. That would be an overpay in my opinion. Darnold was better than Purdy in 2024

How Darnold looked in his last two games is what he would have been the entire season if he had been the 49ers starter. And, for what it's worth, Purdy was better in most advanced stats. The one exception was PFF grade, methinks, and they were still very close.
