They will act like the prison warden, monitoring and allocating punishments and giving scores. For those data Centres to work, they will need FRESH WATER to cool the hardware. They will need to divert water from entire dams towards the data centre. For example all the water feeding the Nairobi population will need to be diverted to the data centres for cooling the systems. See the number of legal cases in the USA against the data Centres. We have not talked about radiation that they will produce and affect the populations living in the environs

The arms race of quant funds making vids about water cooling AI data centres is unreal. Hudson River Trading uses one in Norway cooled by fjord seawater. It’s piped into a former mountain-side mineral mine now hosting GPU racks. Heated water sent to a land-based salmon farm nearby and the farm produces 15,000 tonnes of salmon a year. Salmon are very sensitive to water temperature and the data center water (that came in cold from the fjord) is now heated to a salmon-friendly 20°C. When is the RenTech data centres water optimization video dropping?

Warm water pulled heat off the AI chips, then evaporated into the air to shed it. It was effective, but it burned through fresh water continuously, which is where the headline numbers come from today around "data centers use a massive amount of water." The data centers we revealed at Build today don't work that way. The cooling loop is closed. Water is added once during construction and recirculates indefinitely between the servers and the chillers. No evaporation, no fresh-water resupply! Satya put the scale in plain terms: a full year of water use is roughly what a single restaurant uses. Keep in mind that for us, every liter and every watt is an optimization target. The economics and the environment push in the same direction!
