Wow that's the biggest amount of stupidity I've seen today. There is not a fixed amount of carbon-14, in fact there is a constant production of it daily, so it's stupid to believe it couldn't exist more than 60 thousand years ago.

Taco_Talks's profile picture

Constant production and decay which will eventually reach an equilibrium in 30k-57k years of production and decay. Why is this so hard.

Leonardo Muricy's profile picture
Leonardo Muricy6 months ago

Because it's freaking false. The correct way to measure the age of earth is through uranium lead dating. And it says the earth is around 4,6 billion years old. Trying to use something constantly produced to produce the age of Earth is just stupidity

You want to pretend you're smart, but there's people with degrees in this shit. Please stop talking about things you don't understand, you are a bad influence on people.

Stopped listening when he started in on Carbon 14 dating. His logic is easily debunked and anything that follows is likely just as stupid.

That is total nonsense. Carbon-14 dating does not offer a way to calculate the age of the earth. That doesn’t make the slightest sense. It is like trying to play poker with chess rules. We use carbon-14 dating to calculate the age of organic materials, not the age of the earth.

Its a bait, right? Please tell me its a bait

Carbon 12 is the main isotope in life, carbon 14 in organic material can only be dated 60k years . Thats why researchers use OTHER elemental isotopes present in organic material . Is this what happens when a Mormon takes chemistry 101?

He had to have the conversation with himself because that’s the only person that would listen to these ramblings.

there’s no real backing to what he’s saying about the 60,000 years, that’s purely a theory based on how atoms and molecules react to vaccums, not the complexities of our universe

"Scientists" do not say the Earth is "14 billion years old." That is the age of the Universe. The Earth is believed to be around 4.2 billion years old. This is difficult to be sure of due to plate tectonics and subduction.

Science literally says it’s over 4 billion years old. I don’t believe that but this guy is 100% lying

If only there were other radioactive elements with different rates of decay we could use to determine the ages of things

Stop this nonsense! The Bible confirms 7 periods of creation, but lets us know exactly how long the first period (Yon means period of light) was- 380,000 years. The time it took from the first sound (we can still hear it today within the CMB- a screeching roaring hissing sound through radios waves - the Big Bang is The Father’s coice ), till the manifestation of the first light- the cosmic microwave background, aka the afterglow. God never said ”let there be light”, He called out to Light (_His invisible world son) to manifest physically as light. That took 380,000 years attached The Son manifested as the ”first brorn of all creation” After the first sound- The Father’s voice . The visible 4.6% universe has been expanding since ”like a tent that spreads in all direction- Isaiah, psalms & modern physics) The other 95.4% is invisible, God confirmed He created both universes, but one (visible) manifested out of the the (invisible) Hebrews 11:3

I didn't know that someone could be so infuriating. This guy speaks with so much confidence about something he doesn't master at all it's insane. Carbon 14 isn't the isotope that is used for estimating the age of earth (or anything older than 60k years as he says) We use Rb-Sr.

This is obviously bait, and people are biting. The earth is 4.543 billion years. The universe is 13.8 billion years old. Homo Sapiens (us) have loosely existed for ~200k years. Recognisible Hominids, which they evolved from, have existed for ~2m years. God did all of this.

Everyone else is dunking on the bad C14 science (which doesn't date rocks or the Earth anyway). But let's talk your actual point: "if God created everything then there is an objective morality and they don't like that." Which God exactly? Which verse(s) give this objective moral standard? And what is this "objective morality" anyway? The paradox is real when the same book has conflicting commands and believers can't even agree on basic facts. #WorthTheParadox

Let me chime in, radio carbon dating has a limit of 60k year then they use Uranium-Thorium (U-Th) Dating test up to 500k there are other means of testing.

It appears you’ve been corrected by community notes, that there’s a Rubidium strontium method. What’s your explanation?

Hey dumb ass, nobody uses carbon dating to gauge the age of the earth. Huge fail. The only thing you proved here is how fucking dumb you are.

Besides the misuse of entropy, he's not 100% wrong. The second law of thermodynamics says entropy (disorder) increases in closed and isolated systems. Earth and Life are not closed systems. Order can and DOES increase locally in open systems.
