How refreshing is it to hear a pakeha committed to honouring NZ's most important contract. Kieran McAnulty takes Tame's relentlessly obsessive racist white boy attempted gotcha questions & shoves them right back at Jack where the sun don't shine.

Māori being swindled, coerced and outright forced off their land so that a tiny % remains in their hands is hardly 1 person, 1 vote either. The LEAST the Crown can do is give mana whenua a say in how the water on their traditional lands is managed.

@coffeegirlNZ Maybe if he'd asked the demi democracy question once and had it answered (incredibly well), but 5 times? Give me a break. That's an agenda.

Tame ignores Te Tiriti obligations, goes with TPU and RPU model of "but - rATepAyERs money!!" Councils, like govt, should not be run along populist lines. We already had those elections. Rates once paid are no longer ours. Govt's proposal is cheapest & best for us & environment.

Tame's like Corin Dann. They both get fired up over the mention of co governance. Entitled white boys feeling threatened it could lead to them losing their positions of privilege.

Well said Keiran! Excellent and so good to see Pakeha standing up for more Maori involvement in waters issue. Te Tiriti in particular but also as Maori tend to have a higher regard for the environment over profits we ALL benefit from. The fact this will save kiwis more $s bonus!

Was NZ considered a democratic country when women couldn't vote? Recommend Ned Fletcher's book on the English version of the Treaty. Letters from Colonial Office make it clear they wanted Maori to retain control of resources & affairs except for trade, defence, murder.

Really disappointed with Tame here. Every democracy has its own rules. Nothing is one person, one vote. Otherwise there’d be no 5% threshold in Parliament in NZ and no Electoral College in the US. It’s a talking point for the advantages in society.

JT’s persistent line of questioning to Min. McAnulty failed spectacularly! Kieran remained steadfast, his articulation on the democratic process re water as it applies to NZ thru’ the Treaty explained succinctly without ambiguity ! Another clear win to concise Min.McAnulty!
