How scary are barnacles?

Sometimes I can't sleep at night thinking about them.

Helping whales clean themselves of barnacles.

Injects itself into a crab and grows a root network through its entire body. it sterilises the crab. rewires its brain. makes male crabs behave like females nursing eggs. the crab then spends the rest of its life caring for the barnacle's offspring thinking they're its own.

Not really scary unless you're a boat hull. Their underwater glue is insanely strong, been studying it for some gripper prototypes. Nature's engineering always beats mine.
