El Salvador got Temporary Protected Status in 2001 after an earthquake. That was 25 YEARS ago. The "T" in TPS stands for TEMPORARY. Today, Bukele's El Salvador is the safest country in the hemisphere. They literally put it in tourism ads. The Democrats are very manipulative and positioning themselves as these "saviors" or "heroes" against the big bad Republicans who are unfairly targeting Haitians/Syrians. They do this banking on the fact that their voters are uneducated and forget that their original argument to let Haitians/Syrians in was that it was meant to be "temporary." The program is literally called TPS (Temporary Protected Status). The Democrats moved the goalposts, not the Republicans, and now the Republicans are being labeled as evil when the Democrats knew their status was meant to be temporary all along. The master plan is to get these people into the country through any means necessary, get their families hooked on welfare, and create little Democrat voters out of them. People are too emotionally reactive to understand that these programs fail our citizens. Another example of failed leftist policies that the Republicans get demonized for.

Temporary Protected Status means exactly what it says: TEMPORARY. For years, the program has been stretched far beyond its original purpose. The American people put President Trump back in the White House because they want secure borders, an immigration system that is fair and actually works, and a government that knows who is in our country, why they’re here, how long they’re staying, and when they’re expected to return home. That’s NOT racism. That’s NOT xenophobia. That’s common sense. A nation without borders is not a nation. A nation without the rule of law cannot remain free. Enforcing our immigration laws isn’t extreme, it’s the basic responsibility of a sovereign country.

Back in 2023, Pierre Poilievre sounded like a bleeding heart liberal, publicly backing protesting international students, saying he would "join the protesting international students… we need these students… they should not be deported, let them stay..." Criticizing him for his stance then is fair, but a more productive question now is: What happened to those students and other temporary foreign workers? Have they been deported to India, or are they still here out of status and therefore in Canada illegally, taking away jobs from Canadians? He and his party should push the current government to answer that question.
