There is something wrong with this even though I get the message he is passing. Incentivizing the kids when it comes to “House chores” is not good , in fact, it will create a bigger problem in the future. Every child must be taught that it is their responsibility to play those roles, they are part of the family. People who live in a family has roles they play as “A part” of the family. This video is awesome but they should work maybe in the company the parents own , even if they work as cleaners. or take them to a friends house and ask them to give them “a job” same result will be gotten.

Deep deep message. Even in Nigeria it's possible. The problem is many of our parents didn't know this and the rebounding effect on us is that we didn't know too until late - some of us might not even end up knowing (thank you for sharing by the way)

Not from a rich home, but I learnt about saving and investing from a family friend. Their kids grew up with the habit of saving, causing them to afford little things they needed themselves. They became self established way before me and others.

It is wrong to teach your kids that cleaning up after themselves and other chores in the home is a job. They should grow up learning that it is an expectation for them as humans to do these things for themselves.

The advantages are it enables them work for themselves and it masters them and allows them to save money and multiplies it .. good lesson at a tender age ..

While this sounds great, there should be a balance. Let’s not copy verbatim because it’s said by a white fellow, mba!

Nigerians left the group chat. You mean Nigerians parents should pay their kids for chores that they brought them to this world to do for them all in the name of parenting? How now

I remember while I was still very young, my mother taught me how to save and spend my savings during Xmas, she also taught me how to give, but I didn't get the multiplication of my savings.

While I do not disagree with this, this is all coming from financial lens. Let’s say at some point, the parents stop giving them money, would they still do that thing? Although, if the parents give that money without any remark about why it was given, it’ll go a long way.

What an eye-opening message. Positive effect: Teaching your children financial literacy in their formative years helps build a business-minded mindset in them. Negative effect: Incentivizing children for basic household chores is unwise, and shouldn't be encouraged.

I’ve never loved the idea of kids getting paid just to do what they’re supposed to do. But this is different. This turns chores into a tool, not a reward. That’s real financial education.
