Most important rule of all. Have fun & remember why you wanted to be a VTuber in the 1st place. Yes, it is more difficult as a male in this field for various reasons, but by far not impossible at all. Be you and be authentic. When others vibe with you, the right community will find you; however with that being said being social and consistency is key as well. All in all, just have fun. We all grow at a different pace and each day forward is still a step further in growth than you were yesterday. 🎶🔥

Male vtubers sadly are just niche in general. People want sexy female vtubers for obvious reasons so being a male vtuber already cuts your audience considerably. You as a male are not what the audience wants. It’s like going to McDonald’s and asking for pizza. Like what? And being a male vtuber I know my audience will always be very small. It’s just what it is.

It is incredibly hard as a male vtuber, but people constantly get into vtubing thinking exactly what you say. Its a great hobby and id love to go fulltime if the opportunity ever arose, but i also know that it might not happen.

I disagree with this I do not think people need a hyper specific niche and should just do the things they enjoy doing. Also it being harder I imagine is sadly due to waifu culture which I have very mixed feelings towards and is a big reason why female Vtubers get more known.

I just don’t know what I would talk about. I’m a simple dude, I play games. I can talk about games but it feels pointless when you’re not click or rage baiting and I don’t wanna do either of those

I've noticed it's usually the guys who can pull off the whole idol thing that manage to get anywhere as vtubers. It's rare to see a dude who's not at least a musician get anywhere

I am going to gain viewers and friends by being awkward and making art and if I DON'T then I'm just going to keep doing it anyway until I DIE. I think that's how the meme goes.

You gotta join other vtubers streams, sometimes they raid, sometimes they dont. But making friends in the community will definitely help your discoverability and meet some cool people along the way.

I agree. Very little discoverability and big tiddy just make for a better clickbait. I grew very little in over 4 years, and it's mostly through people I met through other streamers. Which works, but streaming a lot on twitch is more tiresome than useful for growth itself sadly.

As a male vtuber who created my own model and then just jumped on Twitch and plays video games. I agree that discoverability on Twitch is garbage. I would add though, if you enjoy it, don't give up, don't get discouraged. It's hard, and I get discouraged sometimes, but I persist

I`m not sure if i can talk for everyone but i believe most man vtubers know that is harder to create a community as a male since we aswell prefer to watch female vtubers rather then man vtubers , so I believe everyone that started and keeps going at it sees this as a challenge , and is ready to tackle it. For me I don`t mind if I don`t go big , like it would be nice to become a big vtuber , but I don`t mind if no one is watching me , I just have to try to be better. The way i see it if your not a god gamer, funny/witty, or just have a talent to entertain in general as a male vtuber/streamer , your just not getting far in the space. Not saying it’s impossible but just be realistic and like your mom here says find a niche that you like and try to grow a YouTube following there first! Expecting to grow on twitch with just a nice looking model won’t do a whole lot js 🤷‍♂️

Honestly, i think that if you're a guy, you can't be a Vtuber at all. Sad, yes. But i think that's how it is. Like even as a guy, you will have to have a woman model to get people to come on your streams. Maybe i'm absolutely wrong, but that's how i see it.

I’m not saying you’re wrong. It is a lot harder. But thankfully, if you surround yourself with people who actually give a damn about what you do, it’s not as difficult like I’m getting pretty close to affiliate and that’s more progress than I’ve done in 10 years
