If every other house on your block is normal and yours is blurred out it might actually make theft more likely because a thief might figure THAT house has something worth stealing in it, that's why they're hiding from me

the problem I have with this is that they should all automatically be blurred, like the license plates, and people's faces. Those who want their homes shown should do these steps to add their home. They got it backwards, but I know it's by design.

Burglars don't "shop" on Google maps, they drive around a neighbourhood to get realtime insights, and only then do they scout their targets. A blurred house, if anything, would just increase the need to scout it. 🤦‍♂️

I guess you're effed if your house has ever been listed, if your local County Assessor lists photos and floorplans on their website, or if the criminal decides they can drive by your house. lol. Same energy as people who blur out their license plates on vehicle listings.

Mean while drones are sold for $200 with 20mp cameras that literally fly over our homes everyday all day. Burglars don’t need Google. They can also use tax records that have the entire layout of the home. Many of the realtor apps have archived pics uploaded as well.

It's permanent blurring. I had my late parents' home blurred when they passed on and when my sister listed it for sale online, she was informed there was NO WAY TO UNBLUR IT. So, if planning to sell your home, keep that in mind that it's PERMANENT.

I think Realtor dot com etc... is worse, disclosing photos of the interior of your home. It gives the criminal advance locations of many items in your home as well as a general idea of your lifestyle. etc...
