@hubermanlab In wrestling, we used to to different variations of bridges for neck strengthening. I'll refrain from recommending them for now due to concerns about loading the cervical spine, but I think there's potential for a safe, progressive training program.

@hubermanlab Just be a metalhead for 25 years. Simple. ✔️

@hubermanlab Read Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky while lying on your stomach on your bed.

I've been telling people to do this for 30 years. Your neck is pretty important, considering it connects your head to the rest of your body 😉 What Huberman is suggesting here is very poor, though. If you don't have access to a neck machine, it is just as effective and much safer to perform manually resisted neck extension, flexion, and lateral flexion, or to perform these exercises statically, contracting against a pad on a bench.

@hubermanlab did you catch the neck move Stuart McGill nonchalantly mentioned in their recent conversation? McGill said he ramps his head while pressing his tongue to soft palate while also grimacing. that one tiny move has changed my friggin life. 🤯 miracle move!

@hubermanlab No chicken necks!

@hubermanlab If this was anyone but @hubermanlab I'd be laughing.

@hubermanlab How about you just stand on the head for a few minutes and roll around on it, far more weight than a plate.

@ShaqsGrowing @hubermanlab Definitely wanna work the neck. I stay low weight. Don’t need an injury. Properly done will change your life.

@hubermanlab Also an excellent way to induce sleep apnea and other breathing anomalies.
