Yes, spraying deionized water on a dirty electrical board certainly doesn't make it conductive again by dissolving the dirt and making it go deep into all cracks and crevices.......

Please do NOT do this. Re-ionization: DI water rapidly absorbs CO₂ and ions from the air or contaminants, becoming conductive again in minutes. If that happens before the water is fully removed or dried, it can cause short circuits or corrosion.

This isn’t regular water; it’s called Drywater or Silicon water, and it’s used for cooling data centers

Had a colleague who "rescued" a laptop that had been spilled on with a fresh coffee by dunking it into a vat of deionized water. The unknowledgeable "compie" ripped into him until they finally figured it out for themselves.

Silicone immersion cooling involves submerging servers in a specially designed tank filled with silicone fluid. This fluid efficiently absorbs heat generated by the servers, maintaining optimal operating temperatures.

Psst, deionized tap water is how circuit boards full of chips are cleaned after running thru wave solder machines at the factories.

I remember Der8auher using the dishwasher to clean his boards.

Good for Bitcoin & lite coin mining 😂 “immersion cooling”

@MrPeterCole

It actually doesn't work. Ions are in the dirt and grime that build up, it will turn liquid from ionless to regular water as it drips

@grok so can I use this to clean out my GPU and nothing happens to it?

What about the rust?

In theory would be the Ideal setup

When it makes contact with dust, it will conduct electricity.

That's crazy. It contains no ions until it hits the surface of the computer parts. Then it's instantly loaded with them.

Pure water is non-conductive, but rapidly becomes conductive when impurities are added. Such as the crud you're trying to wash off.

the problem is that its picking up contaminants and moving them around to places where they can become a problem.

@A2D_Army

@grok is this true?

The BBC used this type of water inside their final transmitter power tubes for cooling.

Those capacitors holding on for dear life

Deionized water becames ionized after hitting dust. You can submegre electronics but You cannot wash it like it is showed.

No puede ser agua, en un estado puro es solvente y corrosiva. Puede deshacer un martillo. 😛⚡🔥🌩✝️

Stupid ass idea , cant they use low density oil ?

Wow! First time hearing about this. Thank you ❤️

You do not want to be around liquid fluorocarbons lmao.

@grok is this technology avaliable in india ?

This is extremely fascinating
