Yup. I got pulled out at one of these once at 2am, ran through all the DUI crap (hadn’t been drinking), was held up for an hour with this nonsense only to be told it was because they were “training” people. I read the cop the riot act, told him I was on my way home cause my ass had to be at work at 6am, POS cop was a foot tall when I left. Never cooperate with these Also, if you drive drunk, you deserve anything that gets thrown at you it’s your fault these even exist, so you’re also a POS

He didn’t do shit. He gave his ID and then he verbally responded when she asked where he lived, and that was enough for her to smell his breath and realize that he had not been drinking so at that point he was free to go.

Or if you haven’t been drinking you can roll your window all the way down and have a nice chat with the officer while you give them your Drivers License. They are doing those checkpoints to keep unsafe drivers off the roads. It’s simply for public safety!
