How to fix warped wood

Please don't do this. The wood is already gone. It won't provide proper structural support. And by cutting it across multiple places, you ensure it will fail early.

It wasn’t even that fucking bowed. You could have straightened it out when you were nailing it off.

Don't do what this dumbass did. The only way to straighten that board and maintain structural integrity is by steam bending. ~

Not all wood is used for structural purposes. We have no idea what it will be in its final form. The hand planners and routers seen are seldom used on structural lumber. He is using what he has, quick and dirty does have a place in reality, always has and always will.

You already made the wood weaker And instead of getting a proper piece You use a weaker defective piece 3rd world carpentry smh

That's a $4 board and about $25 in labor to "fix" it, plus it can't be used for anything load bearing

If you wood glue two pieces together and break it, it will break the wood before the glue. Might not look ideal but the rigidity of the board isn’t being compromised here.

Or I could just buy a straight piece of damn wood. If I caught one of my workers spending this much time trying to straighten a 2x4, I would fire him

"Fix it" by making it as week as a butt glue joint. May as well burn it in a wood stove.

If that wood is warped because only one side got wet, this is a terrible way to fix that.

That works but soaking it in water and clamping it does the same thing with less work.
