Carpet deodorant will get stuck under the carpet even after vacuuming leaving a sour smell over time.

Unless you have a commercial vacuum.. that powder never comes out. Rent a carpet cleaner and use accelerated hydrogen peroxide and borax.

Yea we do this every so often. Bring the proper aromas into your home because the olfactory has deeper connection to fullness of experience than we mostly or even by a sliver tend to realize.

That’s the National in Dallas I used to stay in a Penthouse there when it first opened (renovation was completed). Beautiful building, but way too many elevator issues and the carpet in the building is a no go for me. Moved out after about 6 months, got stuck in the elevator on Christmas Day (and another time), the A/C stopped working for a week during Christmas week, just to many issues, although so many good things there too. Think about it like this, a highrise that is more like a hotel than apartments. You share the building with the hotel; so you get a spa, access to room service and housekeeping, multiple restaurants in the building, a lounge like place in Catbird and Kessaku, one of the better restaurants in the city in Monarch, etc. It’s good for an experience; but I do not know anyone who has renewed there just because of everything, even though the building has so much potential and is stunning inside. The new penthouse I live in has wood flooring throughout to eliminate the need for all of this, plus I have a Housecleaner and burn a candle weekly. So, if possible anyone that has an apartment, highrise unit, condo, penthouse, house, etc I would suggest the best way to keep odors out is to have wood flooring or similar throughout your residence, allows you to mop odor away and maintain a fresh smelling unit. Additionally, open the windows once weekly for 2-3 hours to air out the place and burn a candle during this time in each room where the windows are open. I have a large terrace in the master bedroom and living room, dinning room, and kitchen so I slide the doors open and do this. It allows the fresh air to circulate throughout the area without trapping the burning of the candle inside, the end result is fresh crisp and clean.

You forgot the main thing bro- Do not put any food waste (perishables) in the kitchen trash can - place in plastic bags and take outside to the trash container when left in kitchen trash can- will cause odor and pests

If you have carpeted floors, get them cleaned at least twice a year. If you have high traffic, maybe 4 times a year. Putting more chemicals into your carpet only increases residue. Other option is runners so that you can put them in the wash as they get dirty.
