Introducing Trailing Stoploss on Kite web. A regular stop loss stays fixed at the price you set. This works when you enter a trade, but it can become a problem if the trade moves in your favour. Say you buy a stock at ₹100 and set a stop loss at ₹90. The stock then moves to ₹140, but your stop loss remains at ₹90. If the price reverses, you could give back a large part of the move. I wanted to clarify about the changes around the stop/limit rules First of all, here are the following changes listed below 1. Forex (Foreign Exchange): 5 pips For example, if you're trading the EUR/ USD pair and the minimum limit/ stop distance is 5 pips, you would need to set your limit or stop order at least 5 pips away from the current market price. 1. Indices: 7.50 USD For instance, if you are trading a stock index like the S&P 500 and the minimum limit/ stop distance is 7.50 USD , you would set your limit or stop order with a minimum dollar value of 7.50 away from the current market price. 1. Gold/ Commodities: 1 USD As an example, if you are trading Gold and the minimum limit/ stop distance is 1 USD, your limit or stop order should be placed at least 1 dollar away from the current market price. These changes are necessary for us to maintain the integrity of our platform and simulated trading environments. However, to clarify, this does NOT mean you need to TP or SL at 5 pips Look at the video below, as traders can still implement 2 pip stop losses and take profits if they choose.

Why do you even move your stop to breakeven? Are you a gay ?? Is it part of your strategy or just fear of losing? Most traders rush to breakeven so they can feel safe or trade “risk-free”… but what is trading without risk? Breakeven doesn’t make you disciplined a solid setup and proper risk management does. Moving to BE too fast often kills good trades before they play out. If you trust your analysis, let the trade breathe. Real discipline is accepting calculated risk, not running away from it. My own opinion thou

I’ve built an order execution tool specifically for IB users. The open-source code is available on GitHub, but since most traders probably prefer something simple and ready to use, I also made an executable (.exe) version and uploaded it to Google Drive. This order execution tool can automatically retrieve your account balance and calculate position size based on your specified risk %. You can choose to set the stop loss at the LOD (low of the day) or enter it manually. The tool automatically places stop orders according to your stop level, one stop or 3 stops Why three stop orders? You can refer to Jeff Sun, CFTe Jeff Sun’s article for the reasoning behind this risk management approach. It also comes with customizable hotkeys for quick and efficient order placement. Qullamaggie shows Exit Strategy for Long Swings “What’s your exit strategy for such long swings? How do you decide this? Okay, that’s easy. Let’s take an example, ROKU. So I bought it here, on the opening range size. It gapped up on earnings, huge volume. All the things I’m looking for. You know, long range break had like a 6, 7-month range break had surprising good earnings. Great growth, etc. I sell some, maybe 15 to 20%. A quarter of my position, and then I trail it. Then I just start trailing it like the first close below this purple line. That’s the 10-day moving average. I sell maybe say a quarter or a third of what I still have left. The shares I have left after the ones I bought. Sold into strength, and then I sell another third or quarter when it hits the first close below the 20-day moving average, which is the yellow line. And then the next level is the red line, which is the 50-day, etc. So that’s how I scale out. So that’s what I use these moving averages for. I wait for them to be my stop pretty much. So I wait until the end of the day and I sell it. Then I also have a level. Let’s just take an example right here. I usually use the previous swing’s lows as my stop. Then I would get out at 79. Even though it turns up intraday and closes above this yellow line, I would have to stop. You know, you can get stopped out because you know. I can, so you know. Sometimes stocks, they go, they can go down, you know, 20%.50% in a day, even. You know mid and large cap names can do that sometimes. So, you know, if it hits my last resort stop, it is my last resort stop. I just sell it. If that was helpful, those are my sell rules, sell into strength and I trail the rest.”
