i dont think thats how buoyancy works

A pro swimmer gliding through the pool, barely disturbing the surface.

You know Attaching a water hose to a speaker can cause sound waves in the water

Buoyancy is not affected by the way the body lays in water, itvs only affected by the volume of the water that is displaced. You don't understand buoyancy and you make videos with misinformation!!!

didn't help

Although enlarging the column of support to maintain buoyancy makes perfect sense, in practice lying flat on your back will only work in extremely calm water conditions because even slight to moderate turbulence will interrupt breathing and often lead to a person ingesting water. In the absence of an external flotation device, a better method of maintaining flotation is to assume the position described as the second example but when possible, take a deep breath and then dip your head face down in the water. Repeat this process over and over until rescue is possible. The major problem of long term exposure to this type of extended emergency is fatigue so try to keep body movement to a minimum. Not moving your body in the water also reduces the heat transfer rate from you body to the surrounding water thus slowing the process of hypothermia. Obviously, when in or near water, even if you’re an experienced swimmer, there is no substitute for an external flotation device that is rated for the unexpected weather conditions.

>>> trying to remember the tweet I saw about swimming while my heart is horse racing

How an upside-down bucket traps air and creates a pocket to breathe underwater

flap your arms like a confused bird and scream "i'm not sinking!

The buoyant force is proportional to the volume of stuff submerged, not the "column" that the video shows.

bullshit

Don’t go in the water ever

Is Archimedes' principle wrong?

That’s life changing facts

That's not how buoyancy works! The same percentage of your body weight will be out of the water no matter what angle you are at. The point is to have the body parts needed to breathe be the parts out of the water.

This might be the stupidest sh!t online today. Good job you win idiot of the day!👏

This will be helpful, I don't know how to swim.

Push your shoulders back and your gums to the sky, you can do this on the sand bar and ride casual waves to shore

Interesting and educational. Thanks for this tip

How about the air in your lungs? Hunh?

Good tip

okay

Great info

@grok me puedes traducir al detalle el texto que sale en el video por favor

‼️That's how none of this works‼️ Water does not generate lift by surface but displacement Only movement or high density water (water w high-percentage of salt) can make a human adult body stay above water level. ....Or if you are obese, because: fat < water < muscles < bones

@sharrond62 Just don't get in the water Sharron!🙄. Only joking, its interesting! 😁

@grok traduce lo que dice el video

No jodas, de toda la vida hemos hecho el muerto en las piscinas para flotar. Gran descubrimiento científico

Mind blown! This perfectly visualizes Archimedes' principle—displace more water than your weight, and you float. The starfish position is key for beginners. Thanks for the clear demo! "

I will confirm this is true based on my experience growing up on the lakes. One must hold their lungs full of air as well. Hold air in, breathe out and back in quickly. When you breathe out you’ll sink

make sure not to go into deep water without floaters 🤭

❌ wrong! You don’t understand how buoyancy works!

Informative
