Last Friday on Channel 12, Guy Peleg, the journalist who originally aired the video of the Sde Teiman torture and rape incident*, read aloud the details of the event, as they are described in the indictment against the soldiers. A right-wing panel member tried to stop him from reading, telling him that it was "like playing that video again", but had to back off because "it's been cleared with the editor". Ever since Peleg aired the video, leaked by former Military AG Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, now under arrest, there has been nonstop incitement against him by the Israeli right wing and its many propaganda outlets. Palestinian journalist Shadi Abu Sido was detained in the notorious Sde Teiman prison for over 100 days. “Sde Teiman is a cemetery of the living, with torture no one can imagine, not even the human mind,” he told CPJ. In CPJ’s new special report, we collected 59 testimonies from Palestinian journalists released from Israeli custody since October 7, 2023. Of those interviewed, 58 reported being subjected to what they described as torture, abuse, or other forms of violence because of their work. Read more:

Now, an MP is alleging that rape victims make false accusations and “destroy men’s lives” because they got their hearts broken. Does the victim’s lifelong trauma not matter? This is one of the most appalling things I’ve seen coming from a politician. And it’s a woman MP, from DAP, at that.
