HTML docs are starting to replace Notion for us. The missing piece was collaboration. So we built a Google Drive for HTML docs with a WYSIWYG editor, commenting, share links, and password protection. It works through MCP. Just ask Claude to upload to Moda:

How it works: 1) Install 2) Make your HTML doc or dashboard with Claude 3) Ask Claude to upload to Moda 4) Make edits or get a redesign 5) Share with your team or externally

I am personally using HTML artifacts for - data dashboards - bug investigations - PRDs - internal memos - occasionally sales collateral

Definitely check out :)

Nice!

There is a good reason to consider not going this route. I argue this point here:

I agree with a lot of this - we're definitely using HTML as the "presentation layer" right now. for the most part, design docs for agent work are still .md files in our database HTML is for when you want to share and present with (human) collaborators

So long as you remain mindful of the gotchas, that's perfectly fine.

this is sick

we've been using it a ton

this is epic! i'm building something similar at

I like the name!

Collaboration was always the reason HTML docs couldn't fully replace Notion, smart solve

Thanks!!

Been exploring similar approaches. Exporting a lot of my work as either standalone html “capsules” or multi-file zipped “bundles” with embedded UUID’s and other metadata. From there I can load them onto various domain-specific registry sites (either internal or external) where clients and collaborators can leave comments in a Google Docs type interface or download the capsule/bundle themselves with their own LLM. Then, so long as they follow the spec with their revisions, they can send me back their version, with its own UUID that includes my original UUID as the “parent”. Has been working well so far, and also seems to work well as an offline knowledge base alternative. A lot of my clients and collaborators like to have clear “versions” of things to refer to, and live documents don’t always work great for that.

@ravisparikh This is neat!

love the wysiwyg angle! we went for a similar approach but with agent-resolvable comments to start off with at - also offering OTP or SSO. same initial problem tho - handoff to people/back to agents.

. @bernhardsson new kind of plg just dropped

@bernhardsson RIP, I didn’t see this one coming

Same shift our end. Moved Mato's changelog from Notion to versioned HTML two weeks back. Every agent that touches it parses cleanly without an integration. Notion lock-in only surfaces when you try to feed your own pages back into a marketing loop.

really cool

Ty!

The fact that you can just ask Claude to publish directly to Moda is the part that changes everything. No copy-paste. No export. Just done.

Thanks HeyGen 😁

@ravisparikh 👀

Or Just sayin. We all building the same shit at this point.

That’s quite the domain name

True, it was originally just intended for the crazy stuff my own agent was trying to generate, hence "agent" not "agents", but as a micro service was quite useful to all the persistent agents in our mastermind group. Historical connotations aside its actually fairly accurate description.

Who doesn't know that Happycapy has taken HTML to a whole new level?

Une nouvelle façon de travailler.

I hope you don't mind paying 3x token consumption when working with your docs. HTML can be output. For summaries and charts. For on going reference for AI it consumes 3x more tokens because of the HTML tags and styling. Very bad architecture for storing information.

I'd say HTML is worth it for agent -> human or human <-> human comms, especially when complex or high stakes conversations are involved

HTML is an output format, not information storage. I think that is rule, from your description. I agree.

Ooh, "Google Drive for HTML docs" sounds brilliant. So many internal tools could use that.

same idea!

nice!

MCP as the upload path is the smart bit

@HeathAtHelix MCP makes it super seamless

The real story here is not about docs at all. You just built a lightweight CMS with MCP as the backbone. HTML was always more powerful than Notion - it just needed the workflow layer on top.

`/theme auto`

😅

Yes! Try to view all your html docs in a beautiful native Mac app :) 100% free and local

WYSIWYG + comments is the bridge. Agents can love HTML; coworkers still need normal doc manners.

What’s WYSIWYG mean?

@ravisparikh I was recently playing with this plus roughdraft.md for agent collaboration. Fun times!

@ravisparikh Lots to figure out for the future of Human<>Agent interaction!

@ravisparikh The problem is it regresses all multihuman collaboration right now!

@ravisparikh Not if you use Moda!! We have realtime collab built in

@ravisparikh Oh interesting! Will have to try this out.

YES MCP uploads are the killer move

Fireee

thanks!

This is really the wrong way. HTML is like PPT, MD is like Word. You can't replace all Word documents with PPT.

We still use markdown files in our codebase for a lot of stuff

I hear some people are developing a thing called world wide web to share html files easily. I bet its the next big thing

I have something similar for markdown doc reviews

協力は必要です。Modaを使用して、HTMLドキュメントをGoogleドライブにアップロードする必要があります。

Tried this kind of flow last month with a different doc target. Two agents both had upload as a valid action, second one stomped the first's draft. No conflict warning. Does Moda catch that or is it still on me to serialize?

Moda has a version history
