If you want to, you can tear it apart like a giant onion and keep peeling it until you're at its core. "But I think that it's cool to experience it just like when I read the comic book for the first time and I didn't know. No one was telling me what it's about or the why of it. You come to it fresh. And sometimes I wish I had that experience because I would love to see the movie or read the book for the first time again because that feeling was for me awesome. "Especially when you go into something with this anticipation that it's just a Hollywood superhero movie which is what a lot of people will think because they don't know. They see some guys fighting and then when you see the film you actually have this experience of it being taken apart. "Those archetypes, those mythological shapes, whether they be Batman or Superman or any of superheroes and how they're just turned around. Whether it's through sexual fetish or fighting, actually killing guys they fight. "Stuff like that or whether it's the end of the movie and there's this moral dilemma that is the end of the movie is also challenging on all those levels."

My first thought every time i watch the "Pink Elephants on Parade" scene is that it’s such a masterclass in visual storytelling and the ultimate "animation isn't just for kids" moment. By ditching the circus tents for that pitch-black void, the artists force you into this raw, psychological headspace that feels way too real for a 1940s Disney flick. The art here is lightyears ahead of its time. Watching the elephants reassemble into these weird geometric shapes is abstract expressionism on acid. It’s more than just "trippy" the way everything morphs and flows feels like a literal representation of someone losing their grip on reality. Instead of a typical sad scene, Disney gave us a neon fever dream. It’s the perfect pivot, Dumbo’s old, broken self has to dissolve in all that avant-garde chaos so he can finally learn to fly. It’s basically a high-art horror short hidden in a family movie, and I’m still obsessed with it.

Jun being the biggest Ghibli fan yapping abt his thoughts and feelings on Ghibli movies is just the cutest 🪄 🐱 Ghibli movies always have that kind of sentiment to them.. even when the movie ends, it somehow feels like it hasn’t really ended yet… even regret is a kind of beauty too, right? 🐱 Howl’s Moving Castle actually seems to have a proper ending… it felt like the story had come to a close 🐱 for Spirited Away, personally I think the movie ended at the right moment… when we watch exciting movies, they always seem to end too quickly… it feels like a reality check bc I end up feeling disappointed after it’s over… these are simply the thoughts of a fan!
