In Bruges deserves to be called a masterpiece- it’s a near perfect film but despite that, this only earned one Oscar nomination, and that was Martin McDonagh’s nomination for Best Original Screenplay. I think multiple actors should’ve been nominated & this should’ve been nominated for Best Picture. It just speaks to the fact that this film was ahead of its time.

Director Denis Villeneuve pushed Jackman to be completely ferocious for the take, and Jackman went further than expected, smashing the bathroom sink and wall with a hammer just inches from Dano. The intensity of the performance left Jackman emotionally drained after filming, and he reportedly broke down in tears once Villeneuve called cut. It’s one of the film’s most disturbing scenes, and the improvised physical destruction makes the rage feel frighteningly real.

Only Bible ✝️ I wrote this song after church a couple months back. My pastor finished his sermon by saying, some people may never step foot in a church, open a Bible, or hear Gods word. He said “you might be the only bible someone reads in this life time” And it struck me at how I carry myself day in and day out. I’m not perfect by no means and I’ve slipped more times than a few but that perspective has been incredibly impactful to how I’ve been living so I did what I knew to do and wrote about it.
