Asking a fit person what they do to stay fit AND assuming that’s how they got fit is like asking a rich person how they maintain wealth and assuming that’s how they built it. The maintenance protocol and the building protocol are not the same thing. If you model the current behavior without the foundation, you’re solving the wrong problem. And yeah, the build takes some time… But once you get there? Maintenance is easy. If you want to start from the right place without trial and error, DM me “TRAIN”.

This is what the Bedrock Operator sees on a job site. The camera feed shows what a human operator would see. The LiDAR point cloud shows what the machine knows, the full geometry of the environment, rendered in real time, down to millimeter precision. The excavator's position, the bucket's angle, the shape of the cut: all of it mapped and updated continuously. This is the sensing foundation that makes autonomous operation possible. Before a machine can act safely and accurately, it has to understand its environment completely.

Some random thoughts reading through the new RobbyAnt VLA paper: - 20,000 hours of data across 9 robots!! - damn, Chinese companies are going to trivially outscale the American ones on real robot data - It's really cool they train on depth; it means they can handle transparent objects really well for example - You can never tell how good these models are without trying them, since everyone trains on different robots, but from the results they show it does seem to clean up - cross embodiment scaling laws are really cool - if you have lots of robots do you need human video??

there are lots of creative ways to use Sora. here's one that's really cool: we can extend the same video backward in time multiple different ways, resulting in videos that start different but all have the same ending (also, crashing into the San Francisco sign at the end was entirely Sora's idea 😂)

This is the view from the The George Washington bridge running from Manhattan, New York to New Jersey. - This is all stemming from Central Canada, where wildfires are burning in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. - In total there are 211 reported wildfires burning in these two provinces, with 145 of them considered "out of control". - These fires started because of unseasonable hot and dry conditions, and have already forced 10,000 residents to evacuate their homes in Quebec. I think what this shows us is how fragile and interconnected the entire world really is environmentally. An event that takes place in another country can have major impacts and implications on our own. We are all in this thing together. Let's get along and work together to figure things out. The environment is a great place to start.
