The new PAC-3 ACE missile is designed to provide much of the combat capability of the PAC-3 MSE at a significantly lower price. According to available information, the PAC-3 ACE will be capable of intercepting drones, cruise missiles, and short-range ballistic missiles, while delivering around two-thirds of the combat effectiveness of the PAC-3 MSE. Yemen’s Houthi terrorists have released this footage showing the use of locally manufactured, short-range tactical ballistic missiles against trucks carrying military equipment from Saudi Arabia at Al-Wadiah military camp near the Saudi-Yemeni border. What is particularly notable is the apparent precision of these missiles. The footage shows the ballistic missiles striking very close to, or directly among, individual trucks and other relatively small targets inside the camp — demonstrating a precision-strike capability far beyond that of conventional unguided battlefield rockets. The Houthis have developed several families of precision-guided short- and close-range ballistic missiles over the years, with Iranian technology, guidance systems and specialized components historically playing an important role in their development and production. What remains unclear is how the Houthis are currently sustaining production of such precision-guided missiles, particularly their guidance and control systems, now that their ability to obtain specialized missile components directly from Iran has reportedly become severely constrained. If these missiles were indeed manufactured recently inside Yemen, the strike demonstrates that the Houthis have retained a surprisingly capable indigenous production and integration capability for precision-guided tactical ballistic missiles despite those supply constraints.

What remains unclear is how the Houthis are currently sustaining production of such precision-guided missiles, particularly their guidance and control systems, now that their ability to obtain specialized missile components directly from Iran has reportedly become severely constrained. If these missiles were indeed manufactured recently inside Yemen, the strike demonstrates that the Houthis have retained a surprisingly capable indigenous production and integration capability for precision-guided tactical ballistic missiles despite those supply constraints.
