I find it really sad that the Greek Australian and Italian Australian communities are basically being lost to history. It’s a bit like the story of the Sopranos which tells the story of the Italian Americans dying out. In just the past 5 years more migrants to Australia have arrived from India and China than all Greeks and Italian migrants to Australia in the past 100 years. That’s a pretty crazy stat. The volumes are just completely different. We had a huge contribution to Australian culture but I fear it will be really diluted and lost over the next 50 years.

An Indian born Labor member of the Western Australian parliament asserted this week that Indian people are Indigenous to Australia due to ancient migration flows 4000 years ago. She asserted that many Aboriginal Australians have Indian DNA. I am extremely worried about how inflammatory this discourse is for communal harmony in Australia. Considering the fact that she made these claims in the context of a discussion of who really is Australian, her implicit argument appears to be that Indian Australians have a stronger tie to Australia than white Australians - a truly explosive and divisive claim. I personally come from a Greek migrant family with four generations in Australia. I try to be respectful towards Australians with generational heritage stretching back to the First Fleet because I know my personal family history does not include that. I know that those Australians were instrumental in the building of modern Australia so I don’t want to disrespect their contributions. I don’t go around saying that Australia is really a Greek country or that Greeks have an Indigenous claim to Australia that supplants the claims of Anglo-Celtic Australians. That would be wrong, and it would also be massively damaging and explosive for race relations and inter communal relations in this country. My strong advice to friends in the Indian Australian community would be to not engage in this kind of discourse which implicitly devalues or downgrades the British heritage of modern Australia. I understand that when people are hurt by racism they often feel defensive and want to hit back by asserting their right to live in Australia. Of course I understand that human impulse. But you can’t go about this by trying to implicitly devalue the contributions of European Australians and devalue their ties to the country. Australia was set up with British institutions and these institutions built this country up and guaranteed our shared prosperity. It’s morally wrong to try tear that down. It will damage the future success of our country and I believe it can only lead to more division and racism.

Australia’s public broadcaster ABC is running an anti-British show called “STUFF THE BRITISH STOLE.” As part of the show they interview a group of predominantly Asian Australian school students who want to change the Australian flag to erase the British Union Jack. These students say that the flag doesn’t represent them. They say the flag needs to be more inclusive and multicultural. One student says she wants to replace the Union Jack with random Aboriginal symbols - “a sun as an indigenous symbol for family.” Another Asian Australian student says “I guess we just don’t really associate ourselves with the British that much, in modern Australia.” I think this is pretty disrespectful to millions of Australians whose British ancestors built the nation and died fighting under that flag. And I also find it pretty sad. These students appear to feel no warmth towards past generations of Australians. It’s like they are saying “they weren’t my ancestors, so I don’t care.” It’s very shallow and disrespectful. My ancestors weren’t present at the Federation of Australia, but I don’t call for the flag to be changed because of that fact. I don’t view those people and this history with cold indifference simply because they were from a different ethnic background to me. Unfortunately high levels of migration have opened up a distinct break in Australian history and culture, where many children of migrants sadly exhibit feelings of cold indifference towards the people who founded the nation. And then the publicly funded national broadcaster weaponises this for leftist political agitation. The Guardian Australia agitating hard for the return of literal ISIS members to Australia - “34 Australians are trying to return home” Here’s the thing - they aren’t Australian. Mesa, AZ Republican Mayor John Giles: I do not recognize my party. I have something to say to those of us who are in the middle: You don’t owe a damn thing to that party. There are no more slaves. There are no more slave owners. It’s NOT 1860. It’s 2026. And if you still see America only through the lens of chains and plantations, you’re ignoring the power of what this country actually is. My great-great-grandfather was born a slave on Rosedown Plantation just north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. That’s not a history book. That’s my bloodline. Fast forward a few generations. Three of his great-great-grandchildren graduated from West Point. Three served in the United States military. At one point, my brother, my sister, and I were all deployed to Baghdad at the same time: defending this great nation. And now? One of his descendants is running for the United States Senate — and surging. Not because of the color of my skin. Not because of a box I check. But because of service. Because of character. Because I love this country and I’m willing to fight for it. And yes… I’ve done all of this as a conservative. Here’s the question no one on the left wants to answer: If America is systemically racist and permanently broken… how does a family go from slavery to West Point to combat deployments to United States Congress in just a few generations? That story doesn’t exist everywhere. It exists here. Let’s have that conversation.

Legacy media should be ashamed of themselves. Running these worn out smears calling Pauline Hanson a racist. It’s well know by now that Imam Tawhidi and around 20 leaders of the Iraqi Muslim community in Sydney literally begged Hanson for help. She was the only one willing to act against dangerous radicals within their community. Hanson is supported by migrants that don’t want Australia to become like the countries they left.
