I actually support this. Student loans need to be paid back, but reasonable interest rates should be in place. Student loans are not even gone after filing bankruptcy.

Yes 100% this is why my wife and I struggle to pay hers off. The interest rate is insane. Interest rates for student loans need to be capped at like 5% or less.

Why pay more than you need to? A lot of real estate investors forget this one key fact: When a realtor is involved, sellers often raise their asking price to cover commission fees. That means you’re the one footing the bill. By cutting out the middleman, you can save tens of thousands on every deal…and still find exclusive, off-market properties. What’s one strategy you’ve used to save money on a real estate investment?

I disagree…..it is just as disheartening for mortgages and no one is advocating “mortgage forgiveness.”

Do you not know what the interest rate is when you sign for it? Do you not know...seriously...do you know how to use a calculator? Pretty simple...before you sign it read it...

I agree. I’ve been paying back student loans for years and all I’ve paid is interest. I have no problem paying back what I borrowed but I’ve paid that back many times over and still owe🤷♀️

Universities should have some responsibility for the loans they create. They encourage kids to get degrees in areas that will not pay enough to pay back the loans. Also universities have become WOKE indoctrination camps. Make them pay back 50% of the loans if someone defaults.

I know people who took out less than 10K in loans, were unable to repay due to hardship, and years later owe over 35K. They garnish wages for this, and they cannot be discharged in bankruptcy or dismissed due to disability. Thank George W Bush for exempting these from discharge

It sucks. But she knew the interest rate before she signed the loan. It's unsecured debt. That's why the interest is high. During the pandemic, there's a period of no interest to pay back.

I understand. A person can pay and pay and after years of paying, owe more than when he started. That said, this dumb chick took out $240,000 in student loans!! That’s insane. She compared the interest rate to a mortgage. Yeah, if you’d bought a house for $240K you’d be ahead.

I paid 'em back. my wife paid 'em back. you can too you stupid bitch.

This is why the voting age should not be lowered to 16 years old. Eighteen year olds aren’t smart enough to choose a college within their budget after factoring in interest.
