#WATCH | BRICS Summit 2026 | Delhi: Stéphane Dujarric, Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, says, "There is a Security Council Resolution that has included a peace plan which is put forward by President Trump and endorsed by the Security Council. It is vital that all parties put into action this peace plan. The situation in Gaza is beyond words, the humanitarian situation. The instability that continues to fester not only Gaza but also the West Bank needs to be addressed. We cannot lose sight of the goal which remains the two-state solution."

China doesn't think the resolution is balanced. It doesn't even touch upon the root cause of the situation, but instead only accuses #Iran in a very unbalanced manner. In particular, the timing is very bad. We have all heard what the US President has said. Against this background, we think it is extremely dangerous for the Security Council to adopt a resolution like this.

Earlier today, I was at the APC Secretariat in Egbeda Local Government, Ibadan for our local stakeholders meeting. We had a robust and productive discussion on the progress of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), from the national level all the way to the polling units. I also took time to brief our members on the current updates regarding the amendment of the Electoral Act—an important step toward strengthening our democratic processes. Additionally, we made concrete plans to ensure the welfare of our members during the upcoming Sallah celebrations and holidays. It’s always a pleasure to connect with our grassroots leaders and strengthen the unity of our political family.

Watch my full address to the UN Security Council regarding the US proposal for an illegal and immoral UN invasion of Haiti. The Haitian regime is unelected and has zero legal authority to request an intervention. They are mere puppets of Washington who were put in power by Anthony Blinken. Any intervention would be a violation of the Haitian constitution and UN charter. #HandsoffHaiti

I believe the UN Security Council decision to transform the Multinational Security Support Mission into a more robust anti-gang force is a step in the right direction. However, it’s worth mentioning that we should not be too optimistic given the failure of the current Kenyan-led mission. It’s up to us, haitians, to change the course of our country’s destiny: UNITY!

Regarding the concerns around the River Yala matter, if anyone doubts or does not trust the work conducted by the DCI, let us hold a public inquest. I am willing to appear personally as early as tomorrow. I also hope that all the members of the National Security Council, with whom I served, will make themselves available so that each of us can present what we know. Thereafter, a clear determination be made as to where responsibility lies.

Edward Akuoko, the Managing Director of Akonta Mining, has finally broken his silence regarding his decision to serve as a prosecution witness for the state in the ongoing trial. He revealed that his decision was motivated by personal reasons, influenced by his experiences following his arrest alongside Chairman Wontumi. He also explained that during that period, all public demonstrations and calls for justice focused solely on securing Chairman Wontumi’s release, while his own plight was entirely overlooked. This situation, he said, made him reflect deeply and ultimately shaped his decision to cooperate with the prosecution.

Today, I welcomed participants to the Maiden Security Summit, themed “Security: A Collective Responsibility”, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba. The summit aligns with the fourth pillar of our MORE Agenda, Enhanced Peace and Security which underscores our commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all Deltans. In my keynote address, I emphasised that sustainable development can only thrive in a secure environment and urged participants to identify and address gaps in communication, trust and cooperation that are often exploited by criminal elements. I reaffirmed my administration’s commitment to providing the leadership, resources and support needed to strengthen our security architecture and enhance the effectiveness of our security agencies. I also commended the Armed Forces, Police, intelligence agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, women’s groups and youth organisations for their invaluable contributions to maintaining peace and security. Reiterating Delta State’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, I expressed confidence that the summit’s deliberations would produce practical solutions that would further advance the peace and security objectives of our MORE Agenda.

I will not let the world forget for whom we are fighting. Today at the UN Security Council, when instead of discussing the release of our hostages held by Hamas in Gaza or the escalation on Israel’s northern border, the Security Council chose to discuss lies against Israel and the situation in Judea and Samaria - I read the names of all our hostages so that the Council and the people of Gaza will remember them. Watch and retweet >>

Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy: "It is not a political decision. It is a decision of a court: the International Court of Justice. The decision of the court has to be respected and implemented. So I take note of the decision of the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Netanyahu, the former Minister of Defence Mr Gallant, and the Hamas leaders. This decision is a binding decision, and all states parties of the court - which include all members of the European Union - are binding to implement this court decision."

Many of you were confused by the vote yesterday on the US draft resolution in the security council. While the resolution showed a significant evolution of the US position and contained many important elements on the future of Gaza including a rejection of any demographic or territorial change and in relation to the Gaza Strip as part of of the Palestinian State, it also had several extremely problematic aspects that had to be rejected. Guyana explained thoroughly these elements. Take a listen.

That’s a wrap for the G7 Leaders Summit in Kananaskis, under the skilled chairmanship of Mark Carney The G7 is about coordinating our actions. In today’s global environment, this is more important than ever — for peace, security, the economy, and trade. I saw a real willingness to adopt a coherent approach to tackling these challenges. We took concrete decisions — for instance, to secure the supply of critical minerals. We must continue working as a team, playing for peace — in Ukraine, in the Middle East, and across the world.

#WATCH | Delhi | BJP MP and Bar Council of India Chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra, says, "When she (Mamata Banerjee) came to the Supreme Court regarding the SIR matter, she wasn't in a lawyer's attire. But today, when she came to court in the post-poll violence matter, she came in a lawyer's attire. I don't know whether she has the license or not. A lot of fake people roam around like this. We are in the process of verifying it... The Bar Council of India has asked for all the information from the state Bar Council to be provided within two days, because there are a lot of fake lawyers... We will take action accordingly."

⭕️ U.S. and Gulf Allies Push UN Security Council Resolution Threatening Sanctions on Iran Over Hormuz The U.S. and Gulf allies have introduced a draft UN Security Council resolution threatening Iran with sanctions or other measures if it does not: ▪️ Immediately stop all strikes on commercial and merchant shipping. ▪️Stop imposing what the resolution calls “illegal tolls” ▪️ Reveal the placement and number of sea mines to allow for safe navigation and removal ▪️ Participate in and enable U.N. efforts to establish a safe passage for aid, fertilizer, and other essential goods. The resolution is co-sponsored by Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Qatar, and is drafted under Chapter 7 of the UN Charter — meaning it could ultimately be enforced militarily. Rubio called the vote a “real test” for the UN. He also acknowledged uncertainty over whether adjustments to the text would be enough to avoid a Chinese or Russian veto. A previous Hormuz resolution was vetoed by both countries in April.

At the Global Peace Summit, we made the first tangible step towards peace in unprecedented unity with nations worldwide. This is a historic success for Ukraine, with numerous leaders and countries gathered for our cause and peace. I extend my gratitude to all participants. However, peace is a journey, requiring continuous effort. We are already preparing the next steps, particularly the inclusion of more states in the Summit's final communiqué and organizing working groups on the Peace Formula to unite nations around concrete, actionable plans that will restore security.
