Today, I welcomed participants to the Maiden Security Summit, themed “Security: A Collective Responsibility”, at Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba. The summit aligns with the fourth pillar of our MORE Agenda, Enhanced Peace and Security which underscores our commitment to creating a safe and secure environment for all Deltans.... In my keynote address, I emphasised that sustainable development can only thrive in a secure environment and urged participants to identify and address gaps in communication, trust and cooperation that are often exploited by criminal elements. I reaffirmed my administration’s commitment to providing the leadership, resources and support needed to strengthen our security architecture and enhance the effectiveness of our security agencies. I also commended the Armed Forces, Police, intelligence agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, women’s groups and youth organisations for their invaluable contributions to maintaining peace and security.
