I always maintained that this project which is being constructed by Aditya Construction at Narsing by illegally encroaching and filling the river bed. When they say China thinks long term, this 👇 is a perfect example: we're in Dujiangyan in Sichuan province, a massive irrigation project constructed in 256 BC that's still very much in use today, making it literally the longest-serving infrastructure project in human history. The project was supervised by the Qin kingdom (before it became the Qin dynasty, the dynasty that first united the whole of China) and was about dividing the Mingjiang river in two and createb a new river to irrigate the Chengdu plain for agricultural purposes. To this day, that artificial river created from here is the main water supply for what's now the city of Chengdu and its surroundings!

Around seven people are feared trapped after a massive landslide struck near a tunnel construction site in Kerala's Wayanad, reviving memories of the 2024 disaster that left over 300 dead. At least six labourers were injured in the incident, which comes as Wayanad has been battered by incessant rainfall over the past few days. The implementation of the first phase of Dubai Loop project will commence with the construction of a 6.4km pilot route, comprising four stations and linking the Dubai International Financial Centre and Dubai Mall. This phase will pave the way for expansion into the full project alignment, which will extend up to 22.2 km and include 19 stations, connecting Dubai World Trade Centre and the financial district with Business Bay. Dubai Loop project involves the construction of tunnels with a diameter of 3.6 metres, dedicated to vehicle transport. The tunnels will be developed using advanced tunnelling technologies that enable faster delivery, lower construction costs, and reduced impact on existing roads and utilities compared with conventional transport systems.

It’s currently $330 million over budget, and from the looks of it, will not be competed on schedule. This project is meant to act as a backup incase China were to ever try to release water. Angry locals chased away BJP minister when he came to argue for the project. They consider the river sacred and refuse to vacate their villages. Congress, NGOs and others are backing their protests now.
