In French "And in this context, we want to lower greenhouse gases and those emissions in the context of a convention, in the conventional energy project and in the manufacturing sectors or all sectors of the economy, because carbon emissions are one part of our competitiveness." Why doesn't he just say "if a pipeline is paired with the Pathways carbon capture project we will lift the emissions cap and tanker ban"? We cannot let radicals like Steven Guilbeault tell Alberta’s story. We need to defend our province. Alberta is one of the world’s most responsible producers of oil and gas. Emissions in methane, electricity generation, and per barrel emissions intensity in oil and gas are all in decline, without dangerous production caps or costly carbon taxes. That’s why we are at COP 29. As global demand for safe, affordable, reliable and secure energy continues to rise, Alberta is ready to answer that call, and be that responsible producer of choice.

I want to thank Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for committing to form a bilateral working group with Alberta to find solutions, but we still have a ways to go… Alberta has sovereign jurisdiction over our energy production. We cannot accept any unrealistic emissions caps (de facto production caps) on our oil and natural gas industry. We also find the 2035 net zero targets for electricity to be unachievable and will put the reliability and affordability of our power grid at risk. Breaking… Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announces the use of the Alberta Sovereignty Act to prevent the Liberal energy emissions and production cap from coming into effect in Alberta. After the motion passes the following will occur: 1) an immediate Constitutional challenge 2) a ban on provincial bodies enforcing the cap 3) labelling oil and gas production facilities as essential infrastructure, subject to the Alberta Critical Infrastructure Defence Act 4) prohibiting the entry of all individuals into these facilities, except those licensed to enter by the Alberta government 5) declaring all information related to “greenhouse gases” at these facilities to be owned by Alberta’s government, with data disclosed or reported at its discretion Smith: “We will defend Alberta’s prosperity, Alberta’s livelihood and our energy industry.” In my opinion it’s time to fully stop messing around with Ottawa’s idiocy. When President Trump says reciprocal tariffs - he means reciprocal tariffs and if Alberta leaves Canada the tariffs will be zero for Alberta and zero for the USA. They will be wide open for American banks and financial institutions. AND - Alberta won't have Ottawa doing everything they can to shut down oil production for the benefit of Communist China.
