It's entirely vibe-coded with something like ~100 hours of my time put in (my weekend and night project) and many many more agent hours. I use it exclusively now instead of Keynote (which in the year of our lord 2026 still does not allow you to crop videos!!). There are definitely still bugs and rough edges, but I have used it in ~7 talks so far and it has not let me down, both remote and in-person - I think it's ready for prime-time :)

@OmarchyLinux @dhh How does it compare to slidev? I started using it to create slides. Very agent heavi with no manual control but I manage to get exactly what i want most id the time (native html so can embed theee.js in it)

@OmarchyLinux @dhh Haven't used it! It was important to me to have fine-grained control over the slides, though perhaps that is unnecessary ;)

@OmarchyLinux @dhh Cool stuff! I quite enjoy using automatic slide transitions, audio snippets (w/ 'play across slides' enabled where needed), and mp4 export to create videos with Keynote. Might be a cool feature to add in the future. Or would that already work?

In terms of slide transitions, I only have Morph, b/c that's the only one I use :) Audio snippets are a good feature request, will add these for sure, should be easy b/c they're kind of a special case of videos (which already work). MP4 does not work yet, but is a feature I am also interested in!

@OmarchyLinux @dhh Ah, I see what you mean with "automatic slide transitions" now, you mean timing them for mp4 generation! Not yet a thing, no, but will implement when I have a free moment (or maybe you write a PR?) :D

This is great prof. I have also been trackling this project for about 3 months now. It started simple enough as you said but there are many little things in design, layout, storytelling that had to be addressed. Getting close to having this out there. Here's a gallery: I will checkout your github as well and will try to contribute.

@OmarchyLinux @dhh It has a CLI instead of MCP that your agent can talk to. If by multi-monitor support you mean "speaker view on one monitor, presentation on the other" then yes, it has that!

@OmarchyLinux @dhh This looks awesome. I've been increasingly making standalone and interactive HTML/Three.js visualizations of our results and been super frustrated I can't embed these in presentations. Totally going to investigate if this can, and if an agent can port my legacy presentations.

Thank you! Yes, there is a way for the agent to embed an interactive element into the slides! Try it out and see if it works - if it doesn't, try adding the deckwerk codebase to the agent context in addition to the deck, some of the editing paths are not so well documented in the agents.md file yet but actually are supported and the agent can figure it out if it sees the deckwerk code :)

@OmarchyLinux @dhh Very cool! A feature I really tried to get working with PowerPoint and keynote (ended up doing raw html) is to synchronise videos across slides. For example 2 slides with similar looping videos which are made to be synchronised and be able to skip at any point it without restart

@OmarchyLinux @dhh For consecutive slides, DeckWerk does this by default! Or do you mean non-consecutive slides? I am confused, b/c I think keynote has this feature too (play video across slides)?

@OmarchyLinux @dhh If I recall correctly keynote only allows “play across slides” if they are the same video in both slides, not different videos of the same length. For example videos orbiting the same scene with and without view dependent effects or something comparing similar motion

@OmarchyLinux @dhh Ah, interesting! Understood. I don't think this would be difficult to achieve! After all, the presentation is actually just a website, so it seems easy to say "don't stop playing this video when I leave the slide" :D
