I am really impressed by how easy Spectacular AI makes visual-inertial odometry with an OAK camera. Just "pip install spectacularAI" and run a Python script. Running VIO/SLAM used to be much harder in my opinion.

I am very impressed with Hunyuan3D-2GP image to 3d model! Gave it the sneaker test and I used the lowest settings possible,will have to start experimenting to see how much I can push my GPU but even this is a really great base.

Can an inexpensive, off-the-shelf IMU be the only sensor to estimate the full state (position, velocity, orientation) of a quadrotor flying through a track at high speed and even be on-pair with vision-based localization? The answer is yes, within certain limitations! In this #RAL2023 paper, we propose a learning-based odometry algorithm that couples a model-based filter driven by the inertial measurements with a learning-based module with access to the control commands. Our system outperforms by a large margin the state-of-the-art visual-inertial odometry (#VIO) algorithms and the state-of-the-art learned-inertial odometry algorithm, #TLIO, for the task of drone racing. Additionally, we show that our system is as accurate as a VIO algorithm that uses a camera to localize to a known map of the racing track. The main limitation of our approach is that it cannot generalize to trajectories that have not been seen at training time. However, in drone racing competitions, the track is known beforehand. Human pilots spend hours or even days of practice on the race track before the competition. Similarly, our system can be trained with the data collected during practice time and deployed during the competition. Future work will investigate how to generalize to trajectories not seen at training time. The code is released! I made this in SwiftUI with Cursor and Xcode So Claude AI is actually great at iOS development. Prompt in Cursor and preview/build in Xcode. SwiftUI makes it incredibly easy to apply custom styling and animations on top of it. If you're starting out, it's really fun. There is no library to install, no server to run. Apple provides everything.

Testing out VirtuCamera for Blender 🔶 with one of our HD head scans. Super easy to use and gives you a really nice handheld camera feel. I did the camera work in Blender, then just exported the camera as an FBX to Marmoset and rendered it all in about an hour.

This Python script helps you better understand how embeddings work for SEO. Input a sentence + a query and BERT will calculate a content "Similarity Score": Search engines use embedding models to translate your content into numeric values. This is how they're able to mathematically determine whether a page on your site is actually relevant to a query someone is searching for. Once both the content and query are run through embeddings - they can calculate the "cosine similarity" or how similar the two entities are to each one. With this Python script, you can actually visualize how cosine similarity works for yourself. To you use you'll simply: 1. Save the Python script to a text file 2. Use your Terminal to run the script 3. You'll be prompted for both a "Sentence" and "Query" 4. Once entered, the script will calculate a "Similarity Score" between the text and query. This is how relevant your sentence is for the target keyword. By running this, you'll see that search engines are able to come with an calculation of content relevance. You'll need to think about the content on your site the same way - which sections have high scores and which ones have low ones? I've linked the Python script in the comments below. No coding knowledge is required and it walks you step by step on how to implement it.

I think a lot about the relationship I have with my own inner demons. It’s never been easy for me to face how I get seduced by chaos and turmoil. It makes me feel claustrophobic. Disease is about facing that fear, facing myself and my inner darkness, and realizing that sometimes I can’t win or escape the parts of myself that scare me. That I can try and run from them but they are still part of me and I can run and run but eventually I’ll meet that part of myself again, even if only for a moment. Dancing, morphing, running, purging. Again and again, back with myself. This integration is ultimately beautiful to me because it’s mine and I’ve learned to handle it. I am the conductor of my own symphony. I am every actor in the plays that are my art and my life. No matter how scary the question, the answers are inside of me. Essential, inextricable parts of what makes me me. I save myself by keeping going. I am the whole me, I am strong, and I am up for the challenge. Happy Halloween.
