I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to explain how a 5-axis CNC machine works by building one you can take apart in your browser. It cuts an impeller out of a solid block while you watch. The table tilts and turns, chips fly, coolant sprays.

Impellers are the ultimate multiaxis torture test. Simultaneous 5-axis continuous toolpath collision avoidance and keeping constant chip load through deep blade pockets is where CAM really gets tested.

I hate to break it to you but that doesn't look like a valid tool path. But the render looks super cool. Tell it to emulate a Siemens 840D SL and use TRAORI with a ball endmill. It should look more like this:

wild to see a full 5‑axis toolpath rendered live in‑browser. makes CAM feel like a game

How is Claude such amazing videos? Are they using advanced diffusion models (I don't think so)? Or have they developed their own world models? Or has Claude simply just mastered CAD + manim?

This is the most complex machine humans have ever built:

Flank (swarf) milling with a tapered ball-end mill on the ruled blade surfaces — would be great to see that vs. point milling
