Why do people throw around the "liberal" like it's some kind of insult?

The two questions I wished were asked more: 1. If not McCarthy, then who is your serious candidate to nominate? 2.15 Republicans are giving cover to the 5 Republicans who will never vote for McCarthy - why would we allow 5 members of any party to shut down 1/3 of government?

Actually what the holdouts are saying about McCarthy is true. He has no real morals. He created them though by catering to them. But the alternative the GOP wants is Steve Scalise who describes himself as "David Duke without the baggage." There's no win here.
