just dropped my first video in a 5 part series where we build a full travel planner app on Replit and i am so excited 🌍✈️ as a software engineer, design has always felt a little out of reach for me. like i had all these ideas in my head but turning them into something that actually looks good was a whole other skill set. but the Replit Canvas genuinely changed that for me. my favourite way to use the Canvas is to bring in reference images and websites to help me to create designs! in this first video we jump into the Canvas, explore design directions for our travel app, and apply a final look to a real working app. it is so fun i promise. go watch it and let me know what you think 🎨👇

The game's inventory and encumbrance system has since been overhauled pretty extensively to no longer focus so much on micromanagement but I still think this system has a lot of potential, and I'd like to revisit it somewhere down the line, maybe in a different project #gamemaker

When I design an investment plan for clients, I like to walk through "expectations". Because the best investment plan is the one you can stick with. I built this interactive tool with Claude to help educate on different allocations and create more realistic expectations. Still a work in progress, but it's looking pretty good!

It brings together a local project library, design-system setup, Codex chat, and a live web preview with a point-and-click inspector. Set up your design system however you like. 💾 Made a DOS-style text-based user interface (TUI) today First app I made is Notepad (or should it be called EDIT.EXE?) and you can type in it and it has a localStorage-based file system with folders and everything! I wanted to create a BIOS for but it became this :D I really like these TUI interfaces, sometimes you still see them in shops or supermarkets when you pay Maybe I should make a whole SaaS biz with this interface?

My Wife’s vibe coded her first app and here it is in action today She created a ticket and check in system for a charity event in Vietnam. Every existing system is fully online but a lot of the elderly in Da Nang don’t have phones or don’t know how to use technology. This app lets you design and print out physical tickets for distribution and then lets staff scan the ticket so that it can’t be reused. You also take a photo of the person and facial recognition makes sure people don’t slip back in line a second time. She is a product lead and a designer but has no engineering background. Vibe coding is not just about making MRR. It empowers everyone to build useful tools for the real world.

Guys, we need to talk about this. NOW! I’ve tested a lot of design tools - Paper , Replit ⠕ , Figma Make, and a few others in the same space, and honestly, there’s usually still a lot of struggle. But this feels different. You can start designing without any MCP connection, use an agent to help build the UX, edit directly on the canvas, and yes, it basically has the “Make it Pretty” magic button DANN© has been talking about for a while. And devs can actually work with it too. You can see the code right there. But that’s not even the craziest part. COMPONENTS! Actual components. I’m genuinely in shock. These guys are so good. Feels like the perfect time for a Contra challenge.

I don't think anyone would like to code like this but you can build entire iOS ViewController with Liquid Glass in Dart directly, and just show it from Flutter. I managed to create Dart bindings to the most basic UiKit components and then just invoke them from Dart.

you're overbuilding stuff... grok/claude/chat all give you many ways to build something but i think you mostly only need: - claude - MCPs here's how i built a mini app using just those, i didn't actually need to 'build' much at all. mcps are still early, have finicky ways to configure/call/debug etc but feels like early chatgpt days where prompt engineering was v important. its def important with this setup.
