GFS still maintaining a winter storm icy scenario. Despite the EURO northern turn GFS hasn’t really changed. NWSAtlanta in their briefing this afternoon said models really struggle with the Arctic systems and overrunning. They stated that even 24 hours out it is difficult to predict precip types and locations. Throw in the Cold Air Damming we get in N Georgia and that makes it even harder to predict. We still have a Winter Storm Watch out for the entire Tristate area I cover and that watch could even be expanded southward NWS is saying. The hurricane hunters are doing sampling missions for NWS and that data will be entered into the models. Any additional support we can get will help. The upper air soundings just aren’t as good over western Canada and some parts of the USA. Therefore model initialization happens at different starting points for each set. Hopefully get some kind of agreement that zeroes in better. I would like to see a warmer solution especially if ice is the main problem. We have lots of cold air coming after the storm and anything that is on the ground or roads will not go away fast. Very COLD air is coming. #gawx

But when Arctic air is in place, snowflakes grow lighter, fluffier, and more efficient, and ratios SKYROCKET. Our Storm has: ✅ Arctic air firmly in place ✅ Ideal snow forming temps aloft (-12°F to -24°F) ✅ A very solid upper-level temperature profile ➡️ That supports 12:1 or even 15:1 snow ratios in spots. Every inch of liquid turns into WAY more snow. ⬇️ Bottom line: This is the kind of setup where storms *could OVERPERFORM. Friends from Europe are texting and calling me about the horrendous situation in Amsterdam. In the night of November 7 in Amsterdam there were widespread and terrible raids on Jewish people. After the soccer game Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv, large groups of radical moslims violently attacked Jews, injured them, ran over them with cars… 💔 How is this possible? Why did it take the police so long to get there ? Even on European soil we fail to protect human dignity. Is this what we have become ? It's just terrible! Revolting! Imagine you are Jewish. And you know this: as soon as you walk out of your house to go running, go grocery shopping, go to school or to the synagogue, this can happen to you. How would you feel? I spoke about this situation of terrible discriminations this week in parliament. Worrying about antisemitism is not an exaggeration. Fighting it is our responsibility. The Dutch local government has failed. My thoughts are with the victims. I am furious with the Dutch local government. This is what we have become. Because we have forgotten that this violence is still possible if we are not honest, vigilant and decisive. Why Hyderabad Drowns After A 20min Rain? I may not have a simple answer to this complex question but was in Raidurgam area yesterday and this what I saw. This is right next to the Raidurgam metro. It is like the IT hub of Hyderabad and look at the state of things here. Roads are being dug to lay drainage pipes. Locals told me it has been close to a year since they started digging. The debris is just lying on the road, existing drainage seems to be damaged and all the sewer is flowing on to the main road. To make things worse, many are parking right on the road making the congested area much more difficult to commute. There is no parking space at Raidurgam Metro. If someone wants to take the metro, they have to arrive on a separate vehicle to reach. Plus there are a million autos lined up on the road. Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city??? Why this craze to call the existing city a dump and then pumping huge public money into a nonexistent Future City? Why is governance driven by real estate ambitions of a few politicians?

Traffic police who hide behind trees or corner you in some random street won’t regulate traffic on the main roads. They won’t show a solution to park vehicles but will collect challans. Why are you collecting challans without any space being earmarked for parking? Do you expect people to jump off a parachute and get into a metro? We look at China, Japan with their advanced technology of laying roads in a day and will be wowed. Here governments talk about AI city, Future City and such money minting projects for the government and still get wowed. Why isn’t AI or advanced technology being used to repair roads, drainages or maintain infrastructure in the existing city???
