We are changing that by strengthening these institutions to focus on practical, technical, and vocational skills that prepare our students for real opportunities. The tools and equipment provided are deliberately selected to align with future-ready skills, not outdated methods, ensuring our students are trained for the realities of today and tomorrow. Hon. Ernest Adomako, the MP for Okaikwei South, has suggested that the Ministry of Education should consider introducing drug tests for senior high and tertiary students when they return from vacation. He believes this could help tackle the growing problem of hard drug and marijuana use among students. According to him, the government is investing in Free SHS to help shape students into responsible adults, but the rising drug use threatens to undermine that goal. He added that since the government is supporting these students, it has a responsibility to ensure that only those who are serious and committed to their personal development are allowed to benefit from the system.
