I did know, but over time- weak and absent parenting and indoctrination camps (public schools) I'm not confident in the majority of 18 to 20 year olds today.

Forget all that "make a difference" and "leadership" crap. Our Founding Fathers were serious young men—they steeped themselves in the Roman classics and in philosophy. They were taught grammar, logic, and rhetoric, so they knew how to write beautifully strong English and, being steeped in the classics, had much morally imaginative capital that their logic helped then make splendidly rigorous. You want to emulate them? You need intellectual and analytical capital—the first to have a world of things to think with, the second to have a world of ways to think about them. Spend a month without television or social media, go to a physical bookstore and look through these books: Thucydides, The Peloponnesian War; Livy, The History of Rome; Sallust, The Jugurthine War; Tacitus, Agricola; Cicero, On Duties; Cicero, Political Speeches; Aristotle, The Politics; John Locke, The Second Treatise of Government. If these are too heavy going, then look for books about Latin literature or philosophy–but beware of any book whose author devotes a chapter to gender, race, or sexuality, since that tells you that person hates the tradition.

As it turns out, many Founding Fathers were younger than 40 years old in 1776, with several qualifying as Founding Teenagers or Twentysomethings. And though the average age of the signers of the Declaration of Independence was 44, more than a dozen of them were 35 or younger.

@ComnSensenLogic

Yes, because I had a great history teacher. It goes to show you how little schools teach so kids today are more moved by the images not knowing that white wigs were a fashion statement used as a symbol of wealth, status and wisdom in colonial times

Ha ha..she is awesome! Our founding fathers were babies.

Mitch McConnel still carries a grudge against Nancy Pelosi because she voted against funding the war of 1812. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Uhm, community noters and fact checkers? This is a joke.

The Marquis de Lafayette was only 20 when he arrived from France to aid the army of the Revolution.

@texasrecks I did. History...read it in their original words. One learns facts, the alleged "history books" never vomit forth.

The Founding Fathers were wise beyond their years !!!!!
